This lady is seriously beardist and must be reported to the Beard Police immediately.

More likely she's trying to be posh and failing.

I thought that straightaway too, surely you'd not put all four dress options together like that.

I'm dying to know what she's on about with the no beards! If people always had beards or moustaches why would you want them to shave them off for the wedding? They wouldn't look like themselves anymore!

What a complete and utter knob. I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life, and her groom should have said so instead of going along with it for a quiet life. If she is like this before the wedding l dread to think what demands she will come up with afterwards.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

And what will we all have to say to the bride?

"calm down, calm down, calm down!"

The only wedding invites I can remember receiving with specific request was one saying "no hats" (which suited me down to the ground since I hate wearing hats anyway)

There was one family wedding that said "no children". I rang the bride's mother and told her that as my DD was very young (about 4 at the time I think) we wouldn't be able to come because anyone who would have looked after her for the day was also invited to the wedding! The bride had a swift change of heart and both my DD and my little niece got to go. They behaved perfectly and even got a special thank you from the MC at the reception!

I would have loved to specify no hats at my wedding. I hate them so much. MIL said it was rude to say that and then went out and bought a hat specifically for the wedding.

I do have the no children though. I really don't want children there and I accept that some guests have said no because of that. The people I really want there have no kids anyway (apart from one but she was happy with leaving her child with the dad who couldn't come anyway).

I specified no children at my wedding, didn't cause any issues.
Should have specified no see through white trousers on fat !!!!!s too but I didnt realise the MiL would think that was appropriate wedding attire.

You are another "bundle of fun" aren't you?
I have never seen a wedding where the ladies are not wearing hats - respect to your MIL:D
