Can you not get the card sent to a friend/parent to be forwarded? Might take longer but could be a solution.

Although using the cash is also a good thing.

Still haven't managed to sort out my card  it's fine, using cash is helping me stick to budget so it's all good.

The boy's cruise is booked, 84 days to go! And I've paid off over £900 so far :j

Slight bummer is that my contract has been shortened by two weeks, so a fortnight less of wages, but I'm really homesick so maybe it's a good thing.

Yay for the booked cruise and the money paid off. :D

Boo to the lack of card and losing the two weeks wages.

Glad things are still going ok, sorry to about the homesickness, I guess its one of the things which comes with the territory.

Once again, it's been a while...

I've just spent an hour looking through my diary, it's been a crazy two and a half years!

Still on track to be debt free by the time my contract ends (well, when I receive my last pay packet). One Credit card is completely paid off, another will be tomorrow, I only have £3500 left on the loan and my last credit card is on an agreement until February, but I'm getting rid of that early. Then I'll be DONE!!

The week with the bf was perfect, back to missing him like mad but I'll be home in just over six weeks and I can't wait! I'm still enjoying the job, but things are starting to grate on me that never used to, so definitely time to go and start the next phase of my life. Six months in Germany while the boy works over there, then a permanent move to Ireland. Scary and very exciting!

Glad things are still going well for you and the boy. Even better that you're still on track to be debt free in April.

The amount you've paid off is incredible since you started.

    Thanks Scuba!

So another card is gone! Paid off the last 49p on my MBNA card, which feels especially good because when I was in trouble a couple of years ago they refused to help me. When I get home, cancelling that card will be the first call I make :j:j:j

What a couple of weeks it has been!

So I was meant to leave the ship on 22nd November, I was packed and ready to go, I got up at 5am to watch the sail in to Sydney (one of the best in the world!), a bunch of us went up for breakfast at 6.30, and it was at breakfast we found out that there were problems with the visas of the people replacing the three cast members that were leaving, and we were asked to stay! After a few hours of negotiating (we all got a healthy bonus for helping the company out :p), we all agreed to stay until 1st December.

The bonus and the extra wages means that I can clear everything when I get my last pay packet, AND I'll have some money for Christmas presents :j:j:j the bf and I had agreed that we weren't going to buy anything for each other to stop me going straight back into debt, but now I can have some fun Christmas shopping for the man I love - YAAAAAAAAAAY!

The second credit card is gone :rotfl: and the last DD payment went through, so I need to claim that money back when I get back home. They've actually closed the account automatically so at least I don't need to worry about that!

I got to Germany last night, it's bloomin' freezing!! BF is at work so I'm spending the morning doing what I can online; looking at health insurance, contacting everyone about Christmas etc, and I have a job interview for a nannying position this afternoon.

It's so weird being off the ship!

    Right, back to work!

    Thanks Scuba!!

So the last credit card is gone - BOOM!!!!!

    Today I have:

    Bought my boxes for moving
Bought most of my winter wardrobe
    Transfered my money into £££
PAID OFF THE LAST CREDIT CARD
closed 2 credit cards, and claimed the credit back off one
got my eyes tested (yep, they're worse) and ordered new specs
sorted out car hire for home
confirmed the hotel for going home
called everyone I can about meeting up
cancelled my phone contract (they screwed up and upgraded me so I had to sort that out too)
Sorted out my insurance for Germany
    Bought 3 Christmas presents
Turned down a full-time job :rotfl:
Got my final pay packet woohoo!!

I've spent a bloomin' fortune today. I guess it's better to feel a lot of pain in one day than eke it out over the week :p

The good thing is I'm working every day from tomorrow until Thursday. The bad news is I now only have the evenings to pack!!

Right, off to my friends for a well deserved glass of wine and some food! I can't say I've found the time to eat so can't wait!

    And breathe...

Ok, so today wasn't as productive...

Woke up at 5.30 (this jet lag is killing me), went to work, picked up some things for a friend in M&S, came back... It's now 9 and I think I'm going to bed

Stuff the to-do list, today is another day...

Only problem right now is my room is really warm but I need to wee and the bathroom is sooooo cold
