Wow! Time flies!
So, I might have been on a TV show last night, getting planked by an old man trying to steal all my bread samples.and I must have hit minor celebrity status, because I already have an Internet troll! I've definitely made it, just waiting for channel 5 to call me for big brother now...
In other news, rehearsals are finished :j few days off before I join the ship, no singing for me for now because my voice is so tired, so just in Vegas atm with my dad and step mum (in auntie 's timeshare), having a fab time watching shows and, visited the hoover dam today (nerd paradise!), and just generally having a nice family time before I head back to LA tomorrow. No gambling, I normally hate it and even I was tempted! Not exactly very MSE though, is it?
Anyway, that's it for now. Next time I post I might be on the ship!!!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Wow, I saw you, I love that show, normally have tears of laughter rolling down my face whilst my OH looks bemused.Sealed pot challenge 822

I saw you too. Very funny.0

I didn't see it - what is it so I can look out for a repeat and hopefully join the ranks of your internet trolls
In the meantime yay for finishing rehersals and getting to relax a little bit with the family. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Thanks
it was a genuine set up, I thought this poor old manwas sstealing all my bread hehe!
Scuba, it was 'Off Their Rockers', think it should be on itv player...
Luckily none of my work colleagues know about it, wasn't player working for an American company! I join the ship tomorrow so of course I've been hit with a stinking coldI'm all set up at our hotel though, so I'll be in the sauna trying to sweat it out a bit later.
The finances have taken a massive hit recently. Vegas actually wasn't too bad, but I've had to renew some of my show make up, all of which is super expensive, and i realised that only having one pair of trousers maybe wasnt enough for an Alaska season hehe! AND my luggage was overweight today - first time I've ever had to pay fees for anything. Anyway, I have enough to last me until payday in June (technically, you can live on a ship without spending anything), and then once I start getting my monthly wages I'll be paying everything off as quickly as i can. I've signed up to be wardrobe assistant (essentially fixing things that go wrong and making sure everyone looks after their costumes), which isn't much of a pay rise, but every little helps, and apparently I might be able to help out with the art auctions too.
OH is back home in Cork, setting up his new house. Only 4 months til i see him next. It's so hard being away! Almost half way through our time apart, and it's definitely more 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' than 'out of sight, out of mind'. I just keep thinking that that house would look so much better with a redhead in itI'll let him come to that decision on his own, I think... Then maybe I can launch MSE Eire hehe!
Think that's it for now, signing off from a very snotty Vancouver x2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Phew! After a fortnight of 12-16 hour days, some semblance of normality is coming back now! It's been a pretty tiring rehearsal process, but the shows are great, the ship is beautiful, the food is good and the crew are nice. Couldn't ask for more
Luckily, because I've been so busy, sticking to the budget has been a breeze! Trying to limit myself to an average of $100/pw, totally doable if I'm careful. I need to bear in mind that when the OH come aboard I'll probably end up spending quite a bit, so I'm just writing down everything and tallying at the end of the week.
Blimey, I've been given my freedom and all I want to do is go back to bed ha!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Just a quick update to say that I'm managing to stick to budget, and ifI do that all the way through I can actually start saving! :j what a turnup for the books tthat'll be!
The bf has a new job on a yacht that starts in August, he'll be based in Germany and have weekends off until she starts sailing in May, so when I get back to London in December we're going to start looking for a studio or one - bedroom flat to rent together! Exciting! Even more incentive to get rid of my debts.
It also means I'll be staying off the ships, at least for a while. Much as i love the job, homesickness has become a huge issue for me recently, and i don't think I could do this again, certainly not on such a long contract.
Anyway, me being me, I'm already looking at potential options for work when I get back. I have no idea why, but I keep looking at trainee estate agent jobs! I don't know, I guess i like the idea of helping people find their home. Far too soon to be thinking about any of this, I just wish my brain would remember that!
That's it for now, lots of hiking planned this week. Bring it on!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Morning/evening!
So citibank have blocked my card, despite my telling them I was travelling, and because I can only have post sent to the ports I dock in and citibank refuse to send anything to commercial addresses, I now have no debit card :mad::mad:
On the upside, I guess using cash will make me more aware of my money, but it's still annoying! Still sticking to budget, and I'm now overpaying the card with the biggest APR which feels soooo good! Once i do my sums I'll update my signature.
And only 98 day til I see the bf!2019 Aim: Save £10,000
