Tax return is done.....
£2250 rebate! :j:j:j:j:j
Definitely wasn't expecting that much. It means I can get back to normal with my rent, have a decent Christmas and keep my UK account in the black while I'm stateside next year.
A weight has been lifted, to put it mildly!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Thanks
I have to say I think I'm going to find it really hard to not go crazy with present buying for everyone hehe!
Had my first full day off in 19 days today, hung out with my aunty and helped her pack things/chuck things out, bought new ear muffs and gloves, made mince pies and read. Lovely day! I've even got another day off tomorrow :j
I've decided to stop doing promo work outside now it's starting to get really cold, my chilblains have returned with a vengeance and my reynauds in my hands means they're pretty useless when they're cold, and it's really not worth it. Luckily all myuupcoming work is either with the kids, teaching or parties, or sales/marketing based so I'm in warm department stores
Sleepy already so gonna head to bed with the second 'Hunger Games' book, almost finished it already, such a good story!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

More sorting stuff for my aunty today. My uncle gets given loads of free hair and beauty stuff in his job so I've brought a big bag of fancy things home with me. Won't need to buy any smellies for a while, and the boyfriend is getting a goody bag when I see him next Wednesday, too. My aunty said to me "do you think this stuff would sell on eBay?" So I think that'll be my next job haha!
Anyway, things are gradually being boxed up, progress is slow - not surprising considering she has 4 boys! - but I'm heading over again next week to carry on.
Speaking of next week... I SEE THE BOY NEXT WEDNESDAY WOOHOOOOOOO :j

I can't believe it's been almost three months since I last posted on here!
So much has happened - I'm finally off to my new cruise job on the 19th, I can't wait to go somewhere warm! Money is going to be extremely tight until I start getting paid, hoping $80/pw is enough to survive on in LA for the first two weeks. I only have to pay for food though, and I won't have time to head out and have fun anyway
I'm struggling for money right now, but I've managed to clear another £500 off my debts since September :j the baby steps will have to turn into giant leaps when I get on the ship and start getting paid in earnest. I REALLY want to be debt free by the end of the year!
The bf is still fine, still very much in love and happy (bleurgh!) and I just found out his ship comes in tomorrow instead of Saturday so I get to spend one last night with him before I head off and don't see him for seven months.
The only thing that's a bit grump-inducing at the moment is that I've had a bad reaction to my new pill. Apparently my old one (the only one I've ever been happy with) is not available on the NHS any more and they've given me a generic version. Since I started taking it, my moods have been CRAZY and I've had a rash on my face that's getting itchier by the day. I've got the doctor's tomorrow so hopefully I can chat to her then. If I have to get my old pill privately I'll just have to do that. For the sake of £10/pm, I'd much rather not have a hivey face!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Welcome back LM, however briefly!
Hope you have a fabulous time on the ship and had a lovely time with the bf. Still very jealous of your getting to travel. xIt’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Thanks Scuba!
So I choked on some food on Thursday evening and have given myself a bruised throat. Bad news is I can't sing. Good news is I can only eat soup and ice cream :j
Had a wonderful time with the boyfriend, the next time I see him will be at the end of September. Only 223 days to go! We're very lucky to live in age that makes it easy to stay in contact.
Plans for this evening are eating the soup and ice cream I'm about to buy and watching trash tv while I start packing. Oh, and washing. Lots of washing...2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Ice cream and soup....sounds like the perfect diet, if not entirely the healthiest!
God I remember the hell of being apart from my ex (back when I actually liked him) when he was deployed, at least you two know you can keep in touch.
Enjoy the washing, I've got a pile to get done tomorrow myself, if it's a dry day I might try to hang some of it out rather than tumbling it all. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I've had my last social outing, I've checked in online (the US border agency always manage to make me nervous! Too many questions!), I just have to finish my packing and get an early night.
I'm terrified!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Stop being terrified and start getting excited! I hate the US border stuff too, always makes me feel guilty of all sorts even when I know I've not done it, lol.
Have fun and see you on the other side. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
