Of course they look official !
They are a scam that is based upon the impersonation of authority.
All they will do is send silly letters and make threats, try a few authority characters to impersonate such as debt collectors and solicitors then move on to look for another mug when you ignore them.

To Afi and Hugecarrot....there's only one simple thing to do and that's to ignore them, then when you've got over the "worry of the threato-gramms and realise that they are scamming b@@@@@@s you can sit back and relax, then you have another choice to make...tell everyone you know about these scammers which i would hope to presume you will do anyway and then go and hassle them in their precious little car park that they think they rule like Hitler by flatly refusing to key in your registration for free parking(its free anyway!) and overstaying your "allotted" time...Heee Heee Heee wot a larf! And thats EXACTLY what these scamming B@@@@@@s are...a laugh and a joke.If you're not convinced then get your peeps out and watch watchdog next thurs....I have a funny feeling that there might be someone from that great authority called the BPA trying to defend their threatening practices....Ha Ha Hee Hee...no don't...p leeease...my sides are splitting at the very thought of it....go on Annie...give the Ba@@@@@s hell and once again expose them for what they really are...you've done it before!....watch a simmilar thing on utube.

Tim Vine won the best joke told last year...conjunctivitus.com...."thats a site for sore eyes"...i think watching the BPA sqirming on watchdog will be funnier. 6-1 defeat yesterday was NOT funny

Hi, you cannot have the bailiffs call round UNLESS they have taken you to court and obtained a CCJ against you. You will obviously be made aware of this as you will receive Court papers. If you do, call up the county court listed and check that they are real papers. Then and only then, would I pay.

Slight correction, you were doing fine until your last sentence. Substitute,

"Then and only then would I break my silence, to respond to, and defend, the wrongful claim made against me."

Think about it! If people paid because they got a court claim, the cowboys would do it as a matter of routine. They don't, because they know full well that despite all the huff-and-puff in the letters, their claim won't stand up in court!

I think a certain Mr Hasbeen has been trying this tactic over the last few weeks. How successful he will be, only time will tell.

On similar note, someone over on PePiPoo has been researching the claims made by the PPC called "Legal Parking Enforcers" that they have had a "100% success rate" when they have taken people to court. It turns out that of the 28 cases listed at Northampton , 22 were won by default and the other 6 just lapsed. In other words, no actual defences were submitted and more than likely the motorists never knew anything about court papers.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

and they haven't listed all the failures.... typical for an industry that gets along exclusively on lies and bull.

Yes, Mr Hasbeen has been busy, but his only "successes" so far have been defaults where the victim never got the paperwork. Where he has actually gone in to a defended claim he has been trounced. The most recent being the one on Tuesday where he was roundly told by the judge he had no grounds.

People need to know that, despite the handful of cases being brought by mavericks like him, the chances of being sued if you don't pay are TINY. In fact, are about the same as scooping the Lotto jackpot.

Figures are understandably difficult to come by, and we have to account that at least some of the PPC "successes" are set-ups; but of the order of 100,000 - 1 against you seeing a court if you refuse to pay.

and dont forget people....watch watchdog thurs night at 8...perhaps it will go a long way to convince people who are doubting wether to pay the so called "charge" because they are being hounded by these scammers that they really can ignore them safely......oohhh i hope they squirm

How did the PPC engineer this? The case documents are sent to the victim by the court. Or are these all set-ups?

My MiL has just had one of these so called PCNs drop on her doorstep this morning. It showed her car entering the car park, and then leaving the car park. I asked what the driver had alledgedly done and she didn't know. When I checked the PCN there is no reason for the charge other than the car has been parked in a private car park. They've also requested the driver signs something so they can access nhs records to prove the driver visited the walk in centre. There's no proof the driver left the car and left the car park.

I told her to ignore it having seen the stuff on Watchdog and on here. But I'm fuming. My in laws are pensioners and this fine is £90. There's no reason on the PCN for the fine and the car park also feeds an nhs walk in centre and a local university so the request may have "proved" the driver used the car park illegally (which they wouldn't have, the signs are for both walk in centre and university building). They thought they'd have to pay for not actually doing anything contravening car park policies, just £90 for the priviledge of parking.

    Arrgghh :mad::mad::mad:

Is it me, or are we beginning to see tickets being issued for no reason? A car with a disabled badge displayed being ticketed for "parking in a disabled bay". Now this one, without any reason.

Or are they now trying to get around the "fine/penalty" problem by making the charge for parking £90? This argument has been tried in court, and they were clearly told by the judge that is was unreasonable and therefore unenforceable.
