So she's now going to have her own washing basket in her room and she can be responsible for her own washing. We'll see how often she wants her stuff washed then. :D
:rotfl: just what I was going to suggest!

People, people! Anything which is worn next to the skin needs to be washed regularly because it absorbs dead skin cells.
But some of us don't wear a dressing gown next to the skin, we put it on over our pjs, and after our showers we dry and and put our clothes on.

Talking of which ... I'm not going to answer the question because I don't often wear a dressing gown, I have a silk one which goes on holiday with me so gets washed at the end of that, but usually I slob round just in my pjs unless it's REALLY cold, and it's probably time I was OUT of my pjs and thinking about lunch.
Signature removed for peace of mind

That worked with my lads who's rooms look like an explosion in a clothes shop. They have a laundry basket in their rooms, and they know I do clothes washing on a weekend. The rule is their washing must be downstairs and by the washing machine before bedtime on Friday night, otherwise it doesn't get washed at all. I never go into their rooms looking for washing.

So when they say "my jeans are dirty" midweek, I just say "was it in the pile on Friday night? Nope? That's tough then isn't it." They're gradually learning ;)
Here I go again on my own....

I have three dressing-gowns and I rarely wear any of them. I think one of them has been worn twice or three times since I bought it and I don't think I've ever washed it. Now, that's three things to go down to the charity shop before I drown in dressing-gowns.

If I wore them loafing about the house rather than just walking from bedroom to bathroom I'd wash them as often as I changed my PJs/nighties

I wear my dressing gown and pj's alot more often that I am in clothes these days due to long term illness.

Winter one gets washed once or twice a month, more in summer as it's easier to dry and I wear a lighter one.

Either I decide it smells and put it in the machine or I add it to make up a load.

I know it should be done more, but it takes 2-3 days to dry in winter and I have more important things in the queue to use my precious energy on!

(For pj's I have 2 of nightie and bottoms so easier to change over and clean, only one dressing gown for winter and one for summer!)

Dh has three dressing gowns, so if one is still drying when he comes home there is a clean dry one.

I wash my dressing gown when I think it needs it, depending on the amount of wear its had and whether its a nice day :)

I do the refolding of teen clothes when I know they haven't really been worn, for example; I do the ironing at about 3pm, DS2 comes in from school, takes ages to get showered and changed. Puts his PJ's for slobbing in on after dinner. Next morning previously ironed stuff is in the washing basket! Probably only worn for about 3 hours max.

I'm going to sound dirty, but mine only gets washed on an average every 3 months.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Nice try Andy but that logic doesn't work. Especially when you consider that you should really change your underwear more often!

You are seriously short of something to do.

Two winter ones (heavy towelling), two summer ones (thin towelling)

They get used in place of towels after showering and washed weekly. Saves a fortune on bath towels/sheets! Never used for sitting round in, I have Summer/Winter weight kaftans for that.
