Sounds to me you need to get to a repair shop or see how much toshiba will charge, it's really difficult to help u any further without looking at it now!ewwwww what is that...0

Firstly what i will do, make sure the ram is securely placed as it should be in the slot.
if that still doesn't work, i would purchase a ram module suitable for your laptop you can get them for £20.
If that doesn't work then it is worth taking it to a repair shop because they will be able to diagnose other hardware faults which you will not be able to without some equipment.ewwwww what is that...0 -
The Recovery Partition can also be reached by pressing and holding 0 whilst turning the machine on. Though the OP should get back to the state of at least seeing the Toshiba screen.0

I took the ram out and put it back in and I am now getting the Toshiba screen.
I still can't get into safemode though. I tried pressing O & 0 as wasn't sure if it was a number or letter but neither worked, when I am holding it in it stays on the Toshiba screen for as long as I hold it, as soon as I let it go it goes to the blank screen with a flashing cursor.
Thanks all.0 -

Can you get into System Setup(BIOS)? Usually by restarting the laptop and pressing F2 as it restarts.
See if the hard drive is listed as installed. You can also change the Boot Order from that interface(or you can boot up using F12). Change to boot up from the CD/DVD first and hard drive second.
Using a working PC, download and save this Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 x64 image.
Next; Download and install ImgBurn(No need to install the Google Toolbar. Remove the relevant tick). Burn the Image to Disc. Use this guide(skip step 2b)[/QUOTE] to burning the image to disc.
Once you have your Windows 7 disc, you can use it in conjunction with this guide to reach the option to Repair Your Computer.0 -
Thanks TakeThis, I will try that later as I have to go out now.
