This is a long shot, remove your battery but disconnect it from the power lead first and then turn it on. see if that helps. if that doesn't work try the next step...
...under your computer there shold be a compartment where you can unscrew and remove ram modules.
Otherwise i would recommend getting an expert to look at it as it sounds like a hardware failure of some kind. hopefully it is just a hard drvie failure and it is relatively easy to replace.
I would remove one ram module and turn it on. if that doesn't work i would remove the other one and put the one that you just removed back in to see if that works.ewwwww what is that...0 -
Removing the battery doesn't make any difference unfortunately.
I have only been able to remove one of the screws at the moment, the other one won't move, so I will have to wait until my OH gets home to see if he can remove it for me.
Thanks for your help.0 -
So basically you need remove one ram module, you don't need but the cover back on to test it.
ram module held by some clips whould be quite easy pull out, it shouldn't need to be forced, all you need to do is widen the two clips holding it in place and it should pop out.
I am assuming your laptop comes with more than 1 ram module otherwise this will not work. because you need another one to test it with.ewwwww what is that...0 -
The Stop error you're getting (0X00000050) is caused by defective hardware - particularly (but not always) memory. The lid being slammed suggests that you may have unseated one or more of the RAM (memory) chips.
Disconnect the power and remove the battery. Turn the laptop upside down (place it on a towel or other soft surface to avoid scratching). Remove the large panel in the centre (it should have the number 4 in a circle), and follow the instructions starting on page 3-16 of the manual you downloaded earlier for removing and replacing memory modules.
Replace the cover, reattach battery and power and turn on.How do I add a signature?0 -
The screw I can't remove is from the back cover, I haven't got inside to the ram yet.0

yes do that, you only need to do the large case on the underside panel, i would recommend downloading the manual if you haven't done so already, as it has pictures and remedies on it.
thanks figment, i was trying to go the long way about it... im pretty sure it's a memory error from what i have been hearing.
even if it is a hard drive error that is still easy to fix just slightly more expensive to do so.ewwwww what is that...0 -
hold down the power button for 10 seconds to make sure the machine is powered off,
are you pressing F8 too early, it should be pressed after the bios screen has appeared.
if you are unable to get into safe mode then your options are usb hard disk caddy to see if the hard disk is corrupt or faulty. if it is faulty (not just corrupt), then you'll need a new hd, as the machine is less than 2 years old, you could go back to the retailer and use the sale of goods act to get a replacement.!!

I think first find out if it is ram module, probably one of those cheap Hynix ram modules they always go a bit funny. I have used loads of kingston modules not had many issues with those, even samsung ram modules are good.
In the manual it stated to keep the F8 button pressed whilst turning on the computer, but might also be worth trying what "Closed" suggested aswell...ewwwww what is that...0 -
If there are 2 RAM modules, try and boot with each removed in turn-that will tell you if one is faulty. You can then buy a replacement if necessary.
But check that they're both seated first. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I have got the back off but can't find 2 ram modules.
I have looked through the manual but it is not much help and I am having to read it on my phone.
I have removed what I think is the ram, though it didn't seem loose and there is only one, it is an oblong green circuit board looking thing and says 2GB 1Rx8.
It does say Samsung on it.
I tried F8 after the bios as well but still couldn't get into safemode.0
