Yes I thought I did I am trying it again though.
When it is in place can you still see some of the gold edge or should it all be covered by the black strip.0 -
some gold edge should be ok, but it shouldn't need to be forced in, it needs to placed in firmly at a slight angle and then pushed down until it clicks into placeewwwww what is that...0

Try it in the other slot.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I can't see another slot in there.
I have taken it out and tried again but it is still showing nothing but the black screen.0 -
The slots are one behind the other.
To insert, hold the module at about a 45 degree angle, push it into the slot then backwards until you hear it click into place.
do you hear any beeps from the speaker? How do I add a signature?0 -
No nothing.0

have you removed the battery and power and taken anti static precautions before playing about with ram? A stop error in a branded machine is rarely ram related, especially if it mentions disk.sys.!!

I found the other slot now.
I was putting the ram in the bottom one so I tried it in the top one.
The first time I tried it the Toshiba splash screen came on but nothing else happened so I turned it off the turned it back on while pressing F8 and nothing happened.
I removed the ram and tried again in both slots but I am only getting a black screen now.
Should the ram be in the top slot or the bottom one.
I did remove the battery and power but didn't take any anti static precautions.0 -
You can use either slot, the purpose of swapping it was to check if the slot was malfunctioning, rather than the RAM.No free lunch, and no free laptop
