    Pink,

Thanks for the per second info.

Just as a favour can you find where on the site they say the following:
we charge your for some calling you and it going to voicemail in plain english - anywhere?

And if you can the per second thing as well (I couldn't find it)

    K
  • Hi K_sta,

The bit about call diverts you can see here:

    https://www.easymobile.com/selfcare/emcontent/services/prices.html

I couldn't find anything on the site re per second billing, but it appears from my online statement that all calls are billed per second.

  • Hiya, I'm new to this but I have a feeling that you will be seeing allot of me. I work for easyMobile.com and I'm going to be around setting a few facts straight.

Aside from the .75 low usage charge per month (Do not sign up to this if its your emergency/low use phone) the most glaring thing is voicemail
    .
This is to ensure that other customers are not paying to "carry" low usage customers by us having to increase all charges, you forgot to state that you will only be charged this 75pence if you use less that £5 in three months.

The explanation of what voicemail is, and how to set it up is woeful - probably by design. They charge you to access it (a nice earner for them as they are probably getting service free from t-mobile).
If you read carefully you'll notice they say you can divert calls to anything, the most common being voicemail. What they don't say clearly (ooops!) is that as it is a divert and they charge you for diverts (15p a minute). If you have voicemail turned on for busy/no answer/unavailable you could be paying for someone to leave a message when your phone is turned off (like all those junkmail voice messages)
    .
We charge customers to retrieve voicemail as I believe that other companies do the same, we did not "forget" to leave this out it is clearly stated on the charges page.

From their point of view this is a great earner - they get revenue for inbound calls from the caller and they charge you for the divert then charge you again for checking voicemail. If they charge in one minute increments (it doesn't say if its per second billing) then if someone calls when you are on the underground say with voicemail activated its whatever your mate pays (say 15ppm from them) plus 15ppm[to you] for the divert (1 min) and 15ppm[to you again] for your to check. So voice mail costs you a minimum of 30p for a single message and they charge your mate for calling you
    .
We do not charge "your mate" for calling us that is his own network provider, we also do not charge for your calls to be diverted to voicemail we only charge you the standard calling rate (currently 6pence per minute and we charge per 100th of a second) to retrieve messages, you can also turn off these diverts at any time you wish.

    Easy rip off I think!
Dodgy stuff designed to confuse and thus rip off consumers! Stelios may regret the brand damage he will do if he is not careful
    .
Every new company has teething problems and bad comments from customers and competitors alike, The feedback we are receiving from our customers at the moment is enought to assure Stelios and all companies related to easyMobile.com that we intend to make a positive impact on the mobile telephone industry.

This message was not aimed at anyone individually but to simply set the record straight and let people know the facts.

    2 questions easyMob

Are you here in an official capacity and have you been delegated by your company to do so? If not, you would be well advised to change your username.

I have read your post several times and I must counter the assertion that this represents clarification of anything. It is not quite clear whether you criticize other companies or your own at some points.

Edit- Having looked at previous posts again I realise that much of easyMob's post is quotes and the rest is replies to the various points. This could have been rendered easier to see by use of the quote function (highlight the desired pasted in text and press the Quote button above window while compiling reply - looks like a square talks bubble on the right )

Apologies - I have deleted much of this reply. Much of the mis-info is due to the earlier post.

For instance, the description of rip-off charging for voicemail is misleading in the extreme. I have never heard of a company charging for the time of the call being diverted to voicemail. What is more, several have free calls to VM and so this triple charge is fiction.
  • Thanks for that andy88 i hope that this is now easier to read and that the point about voicemail is clear in my reply that we do not charge for people leaving messages on your voicemail only for you to retrieve voicemail.

I can confirm that i am an official delegate of easyMobile.com and have full permission of this username, but thank you for the concern.

they won't have chance charging my bill :j

I been with easymobile since the launch date. I never been so much happier. Service is excellent and great value as well. Even when the prices go back to the 15p per minute and 5p text at the end of Jun (which I doubt this would happen due to competition), I still think its good value. Its about time the larger networks were given a bloody good hiding (serves the greedy sods right).

So what if the company charge you 75p if your 3 month bill is less that £5 !!! still cheaper than paying a large line rental with one of the large mobile companies.

I signed up on Thursday, and the sim card arrived in the post on Friday. Excellent service so far, next step is the number port next Thursday (7 days after signup and providiing a PAC code).

Anyone else heard whether or not they will keep their 'special offer until June' prices to keep the pressure on the competition??
  • I just bought one too - thanks for convincing big EasyMobile rep - I'mma be travelling in a hot minute so that's why I chose this, I was REALLY liking the Nokia 6630 at CPW for 9.99 a month 500 min 100 text. Waiting on the number port. ALllllllllrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiight 7 Days GANGSTA!

The one thing I can't work out from the easyMobile web site is whether you can use your phone abroad. Can anybody shed some light?

    Thanks,

    Car.
