I have give him total control and of my finances and we have a plan in place.

Having just read your thread with interest, i would say well done for telling him, it certainly takes courage. :T:T

It's great to hear that he is helping you out with this.

My only other comment is in relation to your statement above. It is great that your OH is helping but be sure that you understand the plan that has been put in place and more importantly the reasoning behind it, as in the future this could be very useful.

Also track how the debt is going down so to speak (assuming OH is not paying it off outright), as seeing how it is reducing so to speak does help to motivate a lot of people as countless threads on this forum have already shown.

I have been in and out of here like a yoyo to see if there was any news.............you must be so relieved that it is all out in the open now.

I sincerely hope everything gets resolved now.

    Well done.
  • However I have to say he has handled it so well considering, his main concern is that I didn't go to him earlier before it spiralled out of control, and he is trying to understand why I felt I couldn't talk to him. We have had an up and down weekend, but I have laid it all on the line, I have give him total control and of my finances and we have a plan in place.

Glad it went better than you thought .... would 2nd anyone in a similar position telling their partner / spouse / parents (or whoever!) - as I've seen so many people say similar things to the bit I've put in bold.

Often the anger is self-anger that they didn't realise something was wrong or hurt that they've been shut out.
