I just have a quick question regarding hubbys income and expenses - he brings in a certain amount, but then he has a certain amount of business spend (not included in the deposits he asks for) eg petrol, website costs, sundry supplies etc, but a lot of these are bought using one of the credit cards - and then i have the credit card payment - which amounts do i include in the SOA? income minus spending, income and spending and credit cards? bit confused!
You need to keep business and personal expenses seperate otherwise how will you know what is happening with the business and whether it is profitable?

    Back to the SOA :)

In relation to the cats, at the moment I buy Butchers Classic for my two furbabies. It's really good quality and my two love it. One tin does two meals a day each, plus they have some dry food overnight. A quarter of a tin at each meal is sufficient for one cat as it is the equivalent of one pouch. I found that when I was giving half a tin, they would leave a lot and then it would stink! It's £2.72 for 6 tins in Morrisons. So for me, it's £13.60 per month for the Butchers, plus one box of Go Cat dry food at approx £2 = £15.60 for me, so should be about £32 for the month for you (4 cats). Can the dog be fed for £10 per month? If so, you would save about £18 per month just on pet food.

yers, i know in an ideal world that is what should be done but with all the shortfall and juggling money left right and centre, it has all gotten into a bit of a mess. have had to borrow money from the business to pay household bills and borrow money from the household for the business. hopefully by doing this whole exercise i can start to try and seperate them properly again. :embarasse

    Debt-free and Proud!
We have had a lodger for 3 years and I put that money towards paying off debt. TBH I rarely see her and its so fantastic to have that money drop into my account every month.
I also stopped using my tumble dryer when someone told me it costs about £1 each time you use it!
LBM Nov 10 owing £34,043 - (DMP with Stepchange)

    Finally debt free 14/12/12:beer:

Hi, i have to buy the hills science plan biscuits for the cats as one of them gets recurring urinary tract problems on anything else (and believe me i have tried everything else, which is what resulted in the last £300 vet bill) and so i cannot serve up anything else in case that one cat eats it.
I didnt know they did butchers cat food, i'll have a look out for it - at the moment i have been trying all sorts of makes, but they are fussy beyond belief. Once my other daughter takes in 2 of them when her house buying goes through, i can probably feed them on cheap fish cuts - which the remaining two will eat no problem!
it just seems at the moment that whatever i try there is always one of them that won't eat it, it drives me mad - i have tried leaving uneaten food down for 2 days once, but either it starts to go off, the offending cat still won't eat it and flops around wailing like a prima donna, or the dog eats it instead!
I can't win - i wont be getting any more cats thats for sure, dogs are a lot easier.
the dog will eat Butchers tins at 59p a go usually that lasts for 2 days - so £8.85 a month, and a box of dog biccys at about £2.50 so its the cats that are the real problem

thanks Plum i'll give it more thought - i guess its a case of choosing very carefully?
