It seems there is conflicting information regarding the cancellation of recurring payments. The fact is the FSA clearly states that a consumer CAN stop any payment on a card by instructing the card issuer. The information that only the retailer can stop the recurring payment is a myth. Get in contact with your card issuer asap and instruct them to stop all payments to these scammers ! Also, concerning distance selling regulations, with regard to these types of goods, a consumer has seven working days starting the DAY AFTER delivery of goods to cancel the contract. This is best done in DURABLE FORMAT, ie recorded delivery letter or email. Keep copies of correspondence. Cancel card payments first/immediately. I got caught by this one as well. Good luck folks.0

Cancelling a regular
card payment
When you give your credit or debit card
details to a company and authorise
them to take regular payments from
your account, such as for a gym
membership or magazine subscription,
it is known as a ‘recurring transaction’
or ‘continuous payment authority’.
These are often confused with direct
debits, but do not offer the same
guarantee if the amount or date of the
payment changes.
In most cases, regular payments can
be cancelled by telling the company
taking the payments. However, you
have the right to cancel them directly
with your bank or card issuer by telling
it that you have stopped permission for
the payments. Your bank or card issuer
must then stop them – it has no right to
insist that you agree this first with the
company taking the payments.
Be aware, though, that you will still be
responsible for paying any money that
you owe.
You can download the guide from: http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pubs/consumer_info/know_your_rights_guide.pdf
The above extract is from page 15 of the Financial Services Authority Guide. Your Bank MUST follow your instructions to cancel payment.0 -
Hi there.
I too thought I had been scammed by this, so decided not to try the products. I had read the small print on purchase so knew I had to cancel before the 14 day trial period was up. After advice from this forum I rang up today to cancel, claiming I had actually trialled the products and they just didn't suit me. Expecting a fight, I had notes ready to argue cancellation rights etc, but was pleasantly surprised. Got through to a pleasant girl called Roxanne who cancelled both products (I force and total cleanse) without hassle and I even got confirmation emails through straight away (although the confirmation emails have a space for a cancellation code but aren't actually there!). I haven't had to return the products, so what I'm wanting to know is do the products actually work, or shall I bin them?
Thanks.0 -
How many days did you wait before you called and cancelled ?0

If you really think a product like this actually works, then ask yourself why isn't it widely available? It's clearly a con - there is no such thing as a working diet pill/potion. If there was no-one would have any problems with dieting and the world would be a happier place.
The claims iforcemaxx make are easily shown up as scams on a quick web search. And some of what they market is definitely in the very dodgy arena - claiming that the product contains Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone for instance - which certainly doesn't work the way they say it will. And anyway where on earth do they get it from??? Humans? Yeuch!!0 -
I just fell for this and I am absolutely terrified, I really don't want to cancel my debit card, I will phone 08081891278 tomorrow morning sharpish to cancel my order before they can dispatch it, so they have no reason not to cancel it, as I really don't want to cancel my debit card! Please help!!!

Hi ggg07.
On advice from others on this thread I waited a week from delivery until I cancelled. Seems the best option is to claim you have tried the products as that is part of their agreement to the free trial. No harm u ringing up anyway to try and cancel now though. Make sure that you use a landline or the '08' iPhone app to ensure you don't pay for the call though!0 -

My story is almost identical to those I have read.... I wasn't aware of the "membership" until it was too late - website closed down unexpectedly before I could read about the T & C's! No one answers the phone when you try to cancel and they respond to my cancellation emails with an automated " Cancel by telephone only" response.
I found this offer on a Channel 4 website, the "Lorraine" and "This Morning" TV Show logos were display at the top so I assumed that the offer has some credibility if it was endorsed by these organisations! ... (:money: take note... you are a regular on the "Lorraine" TV Show!!!) I have written to Channel 4 and ITV to complain but as yet have received no response.
I cancelled my credit card but it was not before they had deducted almost £300 from it! I reported the matter to my credit card provider, Tesco (Mastercard) and they didn't want to know as I had "Entered into a contract"!!!... I thought credit card companies offered some protection?!!!
Surely this is serious fraud... has anyone yet reported it? I have reported this to "Rip Off Britain" via a website called "canyoutrustthem.com" which I stumbled across... there's a few complaints on there too!!0
