Working on that theory most TV programs would be scrapped.
If the 4.6 million figure is correct then it would be in the top 40 programs for the week, with a larger viewing figure than probably anything on any Sky channel, BBC2 Channel 5 and maybe even Channel 4.
Are you saying all the programs with smaller viewing figures should be scrapped? If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

I was making the point from a previous poster who suggested it was not true that the majority where not interested. If the majority where indeed interested then there would be more people viewing it. Simples.
No im not saying smaller viewing tv programmes should be scrapped and never suggested they should.
For me however its strange that people who probably watch no other boat race throught the year suddenly have this interest in two elitist universities racing up a river.0 -
I don't watch any festivals each year except the coverage of Glastonbury, but that doesn't mean it should be got rid of.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

Did you not read the first time i said i didnt say they should be scrapped?
Do you listen to music at other times of the year though? I imagine yes - so you have an interest in music.
Who watches any other boat race? I just find it odd thats all.0 -

I didn't go to public school or university.
I do, however, find the politics of envy, the them & us philosophy of anti-everything to do with anyone who is more successful & more wealthy incredibly distasteful.
To me it is no different from any other bigotry like racism or homophobia.
No amount of rational discussion will change a bigot's mind.0 -
When I heard about this, my first thought was, "Payback for the Budget".The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

This comment has drifted off on a tangent somewhat.
Any comments that are deemed as anti-wealth, the 'politics of envy' or anti -success ARE different from racism and homophobia by virtue of the latter two being illegal. How you can draw comparisons to those is quite bizarre and illogical.0 -
The President of the Oxford University Boat Club has blasted Oldfield on twitter "Finally to Trenton Oldfiled; my team went through seven months of hell, this was the culmination of our careers and you took it from us."
This race is 4.25 miles long and by the time this idiot had interrupted it the teams had already completed over 2 miles and then they had to redo the whole race. Add the broken oar and that 7 men instead of 8 had to take on the Cambridge team, then no wonder one of the Oxford rowers collapsed out of exhaustion.
Now I've never done proper rowing on a river, but I have used the rowing machines in the gym I can tell anyone it is bloody hard and these athletes get my respect.Abbafan1972 wrote: »Good on the swimmer! I find this race boring and couldn't care less who wins! It's just to keep the toffee nosed snobs happy anyway.
Now I don't get this attitude. Just because a group of people may have come from a wealthier background and attended a top notch university does not mean some idiot is entitled to come along and destory all that they have trained and worked for.
By the same logic would it be okay for some idiot to do the same to someone from a poor background who was working hard to try and better themselves.
Basically people supporting the actions of this idiot are saying poor/wealthy it doesn't matter, just don't try and achieve anything in life, don't have ambitions as it is just elitism to do so and therefore wrong.0
