Hopefully he can get one which suits.

I think we can forgive you re the housework - have you been on chore wars? Dragon set it up and if nothing else it does feel like you are doing something - even if the something is doing the washing up. I think we tend to forget how much we do do from day to day.

I did register with chore wars, having seen it on Dragon's diary thread (I think - or was it hypno's?!) but haven't got any further than that. Don't you need to be invited to join someone's army or something like that?! (Sorry - been asleep since I did it!)

Latest news:
My Avon customer came to see me quite early (before 11am) which meant I could pay her money into my bank account along with all the rest. So money has been paid in and I have now paid Avon – so one very important job done!
I have now checked my available balance and I have enough in there to pay one bill that will be going out of my account on Monday and to continue paying my little payments off my Egg and Tesco credit cards as part of the ‘Make a payment a day challenge’ – I am up to £4.50 now. I never realised how motivating it could to just make a little payment every day!
There is another payment going out on Friday next week but I will have been paid by then!
OH phoned me at about 11:30 this morning. His brother had told him to phone the bloke at the agency at 9:00am to talk about the job. He had been trying repeatedly for 2.5 hours to get hold of this bloke and every single time he phoned, it was either engaged or he hung up. Really frustrating as you can imagine! By that time he had had enough so decided to have a break from it for a couple of hours. I suggested that perhaps he should just try every hour until he got through, which is what he said he would do. I also told him to tell his brother about the problems he has been having.
He has got to go to the care home sometime today to do his CRB. I think he is wise to keep them all ticking along until one of them comes good!
I shall report as more news comes in…

Hi All
Thank goodness it’s Friday. I am feeling sooooooo tired today!
OH still didn’t manage to get through to that bloke yesterday and couldn’t get hold of his brother either. However, he did manage to speak to his brother’s wife so at least the message will be passed on that he has been trying!
OH went to do the CRB forms at the care home yesterday and the vibes that he is getting from there are that he has got the job, though of course they haven’t said as much. No news yet about the other one though.
Today OH should be paying the Halifax bill – he hasn’t said that he can’t so I am keeping my fingers crossed about that one. I will know when I get home anyway!
Having checked my internet banking today I have discovered that my solicitor’s cheques have cleared so I have a bit more spare money now – I think a trip to Aldi on the way home is on the cards now! Not that we need much, you understand!
I have been plodding on with the Make a Payment a Day Challenge – I have now made an extra £5.50 worth of payments this week. I think what I might do, as a one off, is make some small extra payments to all the credit cards that I can see on my Egg Money Manager so that the balances are all round numbers – I will pay off the pence so there are only pounds. If any are close to a ten, I think I will round it to that as well. I know it’s not a lot but every little helps and it makes me feel good.
One of my balance transfers has now gone through – I am just waiting for the other one now.
Can’t think of any more news to report at the moment. This weekend I think I shall mostly be watching the Olympics and not a lot else!
I will update on yesterday’s to-do list in a separate post and then put together today’s list – I doubt it will be very long because I usually spend Friday evenings collapsed on the sofa and mainly asleep!

· Reply to email from home insurance providers giving them the details they require (this job will then be finished – hooray!)

· Make a nice salad for dinner
· Collapse on sofa
· Sleep!
I think that is about as much as I will manage today!

:mad: at the card machines not working - that would just about have done me as far as any future supermarket visits go.....I dislike supermarket shopping at the best of times :mad:

Latest news from the PigginSkint household before I get on to today's to-do list:

The mystery of why OH has been unable to get through to the bloke about the job at his brother's place has been explained - his brother had given him the wrong number! He now has the correct number and tried to phone him but the apparently he is not in over the weekend - OH has got to phone back on Monday.

He has heard back about the job that he went for an interview for the other day - he didn't get. It's a shame but it wasn't really ideal - the travel costs would have been quite a lot and it wasn't for many hours anyway. Also he would only have been asked to work when they actually needed him and it could be at quite short notice - you can't really plan anything around that, can you?
