  • But yes, I had a wobbly moment early on - Oh my God I'm 38! Broody doesn't even describe how I'm feeling! The trouble is, the way things are financially in our house it is not possible to start thinking about that at the moment - I earn far more than OH, I have loads of debt which I need to clear, I am far more organised than OH, I have a much better credit rating than OH. Plus I like to be in charge and I don't want to give that up! I have already told that OH that I wouldn't want to work full time with a young baby - part time fine, but not full time. This means that OH will have to be earning far more money, ON A REGULAR BASIS, than he does now!!

    Sorry for the rant!!

    Hi All

I have been having a bit of play with my spreadsheets today, ready to update my figures for the 1st of the month. For the first time in ages I have actually had a look at targets. There are some good ones that I have achieved or I am about to achieve:

    · Based on my estimates of my totals for 1st March, I shall be a gnat’s whisker away from getting my total credit card debt down to below £22K (roughly £20 away) – I shall have to see what extra little payments I can do to make it happen!
    · I have now reduced my total non-mortgage debt by 20% - not bad considering all the ups and downs I have experienced since my light bulb moment 2½ years ago.
    · I have reduced my total credit card debt by 10% of its highest level - when you consider that 18 months ago I transferred my windows finance to one of my credit cards (saving myself bucketloads of interest in the process), this is pretty good I think!
    · By the beginning of April I have high hopes that I will be close to or have achieved a 15% reduction of my total credit card debt.
    · The balance on my LTSB loan is now less that £6K – a reduction of more than 50% - and by the summer it will have reduced to below £5K – when it will have reduced by about 60%.

This all helps to cheer me up!

    Hi All

OMG I'm so tired today - can't wait to go to bed! yawn.gif

I was supposed to be making a start on my Avon order tonight but I just can't face it. I have finished collecting books in and I should have been checking all the orders ready to put them online tomorrow evening. I am just going to do it all tomorrow instead. At least tomorrow I won't have to go out anywhere once I get home - unlike tonight! I have been out for a last sweep to get books in and have taken DS's stuff to him at his Dad's.

Dinner is on and pancake batter is made - woohoo! I lurrrrvvvveee pancakes! flipcake.gif yum.gif

I checked my Virgin credit card account online today and discovered that the minimum payment I made last week is still not showing. Grrrrr!!! Clearly they are not signed up to Faster Payment. Typical! I have realised that somehow I made a bit of a booboo and arranged for the payment to go out later than it should have done - it only went out on Friday when it needed to reach them by Sunday. I don't know how on earth I managed that! This means that, as I noticed today, they have slapped me with a late payment charge!

Oh well, can't be helped I suppose. I should phone them up to ask them very nicely to waive it - it can't hurt! But I can't face it tonight.

Right, that's all the news for now. Bye all!
