    Hi All

I have had a very long and tiring week and so haven't had much of a chance to update.

Our temp has gone (long story) so this week we have been trying to get through all the work he should have been doing as well as our own work.

We had a good (if rather stressfull) day for Comic Relief yesterday. I wore red top to toe, including red deely boppers - which made everyone smile! We ran a sweepstake from our office - this was one that came with the fundraising pack. The winner gets half the money (£30) and the other half goes to Comic Relief. DS and I made cakes on Thursday night which we sold from our office at 50p each - DS made fairy cakes with white icing and glace cherries for red noses, I made flapjacks also with glace cherries for red noses, and the chocolate sponge squares sprinkled with sugar were a joint effort. We also had the yawn pot - 50p fine for every time someone yawned in our office. Unfortunately with the temp gone we didn't make that much from this! Still our total was:

Sweepstake = £30.20 (someone put a spare 20p in the pot)
Cakes = £17.20 (another spare 20p got put in the pot)
    Yawn fines = £2.50

    Total = £49.90

Then DS had £20 that he had collected for this Sport Relief Mile that he did last year - he never managed to collect all the money which is why it didn't get paid in at the time.

So today I paid a total of £69.90 into the bank. Feel quite proud of myself actually!

I realised when I got home that I didn't get a receipt, but I did put my email address on the back of the giro slip and ticked the box requesting the thank you certificate so I am assuming that at some point I will get an email confirmation.

All of yesterday I had headache which kept coming and going as I took tablets to ease it. However, by the time I got home it was absolutely pounding. Just after DS was collected by his Dad at 6:30pm I lay down on the sofa and went to sleep. I didn't wake up until after 9pm so I missed quite a lot of the Comic Relief footage. OH made some dinner which I ate and then went to bed because my head was no better.

Today I have still had a headache most of the day, but it seems to have eased off for the moment - hope it stays that way!!

My daily payments are going to have to be much smaller for the next few days - OH can't pay me his weekly money for this week nor what he owes me from last week until at least the middle of the week. But I need to pay Avon this week.  It is going to be cutting it fine to say the least!

In better news, OH has just been informed that the money for the ad he was in at Christmas is finally imminent! About bl**dy time! He filmed it in September and it was first aired in November.

Anyway I think that is all the news for now.

    Bye all!!

    Hi All

I am still fighting against this headache - it has been coming and going all day. At the moment it is gone but how long that will last I don't know.

I have been doing some baking today as I had quite a few things to use up. DS messed up his first attempt at the fairy cakes the other night - I discovered after he had creamed the butter and sugar that he had something caught underneath one end of the scales so that his weights weren't accurate, to say the least. I put tne butter and sugar mix in the fridge and made him start again. Today I used the it to make a sponge cake and hoped for the best - it is bit thin but otherwise O.K.

I also had a load of rather ripe bananas, and no eggs left, so I made a fat-free banana and honey loaf and some banana and raisin flapjacks.

I had also got some cooking chocolate left over and some Sainsbury Basics rice crispies, which actually aren't that nice as a breakfast cereal, so I have made some chocolate crispie cakes.

Not much else to report really except that this week is going to be a real juggling act money wise - hope OH can give me plenty of cashola midweek!

    Bye all!

    Hi All

Not really that much news today, but this is what I have got to report:

The winner of the sweepstake decided to donate her winnings to Comic Relief so that is an extra £30 that has been raised.

I am still trying to get rid of my last 2 Avon deliveries - one customer appears to be away and I have one mystery order which no-one has claimed.

I have claimed credits for these plus one high priced item, even though I have sold it, so I don't have to pay Avon so much this week - I will just let the recharge go through for the item I have actually sold.

It is going to be tight to have enough money in my account to pay Avon but I think I might just manage it. If not I shall just have to borrow some money out of the Wii savings pot - not something I really want to have to do so let's hope that OH gives me enough money to avoid that eventuality!

That's about all for now. Need to get on with making dinner, doing surveys and I still need to do my free scratch card today.

    Bye all!

    Hi All

Yesterday was a busy busy day and then OH hogged the computer in the evening, so I didn’t get chance to update.

Anyway, the big news for today is that the cheque for the ad that OH did before Christmas has finally arrived. Woohoo! About bl**dy time! He filmed it in September and it was first aired in November, so it has been a very long time coming! Once it clears it means that OH will be able to pay his NI bill, pay me what he owes me (bills money, travel expenses he has put on the Egg card recently and the rest of the money he owes me for the cheque that bounced in August). :j :j :j :j :j :j

In other news, I seem to have just about managed to get through this week moneywise without having to borrow from the Wii savings pot. Phew! OH was able to give me £50 yesterday which I have paid in to my bank account today. This means that I will have enough to pay for my Avon tonight and I will still have enough left over to cover the water bill DD if it goes out this week – I have temporarily mislaid the bill and can’t remember when the payments start. This is a big relief I can tell you.

Tonight I must do my Avon order online – I haven’t done anything towards it yet apart from submit my claims for credits and replacements. Hope it’s a big one this time – I could do with the money!

I sold another Avon book at the weekend which I posted on Monday – the money for that will hit my account on Friday. It’s not a lot but every little helps.

DS got his options back this week and he was very pleased to get all his first choices (well sort of – he had to change one of them because the subject he originally chose won’t be running because not enough people wanted to do it). So as well as all the core subjects he will be doing Spanish, History and the OCR National in ICT (this is the one he badly wanted to do so he is very pleased to get it).

I had to take another migraine tablet this afternoon – that is 4 I have had to take in the last 10 days, which is a much higher frequency than I normally have to take them. At least they work if I take them early enough.

Anyway, I think that is all the news for now.

    Bye All!!

No it doesn't normally take that long, which is what was so annoying! The norm is approx 1 month after the first airing - which means he should have had it before Christmas!

As it is, he still hasn't had it all yet - most, but not all. He has received the money for the ad itself but has not yet received the fee for the day's filming - that is coming from a differnent source.

  • When I was younger (young free and single lol!) I was actually quite good with money. I went to University at 18, graduated when I was 22 and my only debt then was a £200 overdraft. (I am 36 now) This was in the days when you could still get a grant, albeit a very small one! My Dad used to pay me a monthly allowance and if I ran out of money he would give me a bit more into my bank account for me. He was happy to do this because he really didn’t want me to have a student loan.
