  • Hi All

Funny old day today - feels like a Friday even though it isn't (because this was my last working day this week).

The problem with that Friday feeling is that I have just realised that I should have gone out tonight to collect my Avon books in, and I had completely forgotten about it! D'oh!!

I am not going to worry about it too much. Partly because it is not as if I make a habit of it, but mainly because my next door neighbour's mum died this evening - sort of puts things into perspective really doesn't it?

Ho hum...anyway, in other news, I had my Occupational Health appointment this afternoon. As expected - a good dose of common sense. My manager won't like it but at least we are playing by the rules. I have asthma, as well as other underlying conditions (IBS etc), which makes me more vulnerable to bugs that are going around. These things happen, there is not a lot that can be done about it. My manager seems to think there is some magic potion that I can be given to stop me getting ill - as if! What are they meant to do? Put me in a big bubble so I can't catch anything!

Tomorrow is the day we go to the NEC, which I am really looking forward to.

Right, I am going to have a bath in a minute and then go to bed.

    Night all!

    Hi All

We had a good day out at the NEC today. We were a bit disappointed that there weren't more tents and accessories but we had great fun looking round the caravans, motorhomes, folding campers, folding caravans, boats and holiday homes.

My Dad has just phoned to see how we got on and told me that the doctor has told him she thinks he has got pneumonia - quite worried about him actually as he is not in the best of health anyway.

OH might be getting some overtime this weekend which will definitely help the mone situation, especially as neither of the auditions he has been to recently seems to have come to anything (still time for one of them). OH was quite angry with one of them this week as they refused to pay the travel expenses for the recall, after saying that they would. I don't know how much of a stink has been kicked up in how many quarters, but the latest we heard is that they will be paying them after all.

Feeling very tired now so I think an early night is order tonight. Just got to get some free b*i*n*g*o played first!

    Bye for now!

Oh, forgot to say, I have been out tonight to get my Avon books in and did remarkably well - loads were out on doorsteps and no-one asked the question I was dreading 'we were expecting you last night'. A few orders as well, which was nice!

A couple of people put notes out with their books basically saying 'no more books please'. It's no skin off my nose - if they are not interested any more (perhaps because the Avon buying person in the house has moved out) I would rather they said so. It saves me wasting my time leaving a book there when they are not going to order - anything that means less work for me is fine by me!

Copied from the Make a Payment a Day thread:

    Hi All

My latest update is that I have been managing to continue paying £20 ( plus pence equalling the day of the month) to Egg card every day. I have now nearly paid everything on it that is mine - OH has put some travel expenses on it which he has yet to pay me back. I understand that he can't quite do it yet as it is my birthday on Sunday so he obviously needs a little spare cash at the moment! ;)

The payments that went out today were £10.19 to Egg (because before today my remaining balance was less that £20) and £10.19 to Tesco credit card. Tomorrow's payment will be £10.20 to Egg card again - used my Egg card today to pay for train fares to NEC.

I am cutting my daily payments back down to £10 per day again because I have done some grocery shopping and I don't know whether I can afford £20 a day for the rest of the month. I shall continue on £10 going into next month until I am sure I can afford to put it back up to £20 a day again.

Totals so far = £231.64 in February, £840.42 for challenge so far.

    Hi All

Yesterday was spent basically recovering from the day before - I was soooo tired!

This morning I went into town to go to the library, bank to pay money in and Aldi to buy cakes to take to work with me on Monday, treats (crisps and choc) for tomorrow, cheese (because we have run out), a few other essentials and wine (because if you can't have wine on your birthday when can you?!). I have also bought eggs as I plan to make myself a birthday cake tomorrow - chocolate of course!:EasterBun

My Dad is a little better - this afternoon he and SM took me shopping to buy my birthday present. They bought me all of the 3 things I wanted - a digital alarm clock radio (my current alarm clock radio is on its last legs), a rechargeable electric air bed pump (the one I have can only plug into a car - fine if we go camping by car, no so good if we don't!) and a new pair of jeans from TK Maxx.

We had to find my Dad a chair to sit on in TK Maxx and although he managed to drive to the retail park to go to Argos and TK Maxx, SM then had to take over the driving. Apparently, though, this is a big improvement!

They are still hoping to go to the NEC tomorrow (I can't see it myself) as they have motorised scooter type wheelchairs that people can use - the problem is getting my Dad to the place where these are issued from as he can't walk very far at all.

Normally I would go to my Dad's for dinner on the Sunday closest to my birthday, but they have taken a raincheck on that as they don't feel up to it. Fine by me if they are not well (my SM is a bit rough herself).

I think that is all the news for now!

    Bye all!

  • Yawn!!! Morning all!

I am 38 today and feeling old - probably because of the biological clock ticking ever louder (never thought I would have only one child!).

Anyway, enough of that, I am sat here in my brand new jeans (mmmmm lovely!), while DS is playing on the playstation and OH has gone out to buy my birthday present!

So far (apart from the presents my Dad and SM got me yesterday) I have had a big selection tin of chocolate biscuits from DS and a bar of chocolate from a friend at work - ah some people know me so well!

Last night I finally took the plunge with the free scratchcards that everyone seems to be talking about - deposited £10 with Chit Chat Bingo, played my first scratchcard, won 10p, withdrew the £10 deposit again. I was surprised how easy it was! That will be another addition to my daily routine.

I have also got some free bingo running in the background - Foxy Bingo have got some free for all games running at the moment. Lots of people playing but it is definitely worth a go.

I think my broadband contract expires today - or at least the lock-in period does. This means that high on my list of priorities over the next few days is to sort that out.

Also, really must get on and do the TC forms - they got put to one side temporarily as I wanted OH to sort out his student loans (give him more than one thing to deal with at a time and he can't cope!).

Right, I think that's all the news for now. Bye all!

  • Happy Birthday!

The scratchcards are a good addition to daily routine. I've had £10 already (in one month) and well on way to another £10. Plus they aren't arduous like daily clicks.

    Have a good day!

I was surprise how easy it was - definitely not a time consuming way to earn an extra few pence every day.
