I'm wondering if the prices will stay the same as before, for a while anyway, but the pack sizes will have been reduced a bit?

I'm going check the price per gram before and after just for interest purposes ;).
  • They should:

    1) Bring back Double Points: you threw out the baby with the bath water with that one.

    2) Don't sneakily jack up the price before you put the item on multi-buy / bogof.
ps don't claim it was an "admin. error" when you are caught out, it's patronising.

    3) Have a seperate dedicated customer services desk, instead of having to join the cigs and lottery queue.

    That will do for now.

    Danny.

Same carp, different packaging, higher price (in a few more days).

The packaging looks fancier - but will it now taste as good as Sainsburys basics range?

Coudn't possibly taste worse .... could it?????
  • I don't trust Tesco Value unless it's the exception to the rule like their gammon Joints, great for cooking up for a nice ham.
Tesco are just too addicted to selling crap to convince me their range will be any good, hence it is really good to go apeshit over Waitrose Essentials.

Read the Telegraph article, and it becomes clear that this time Tesco have actually 'got it'.

The proposition is not just the repackaging. Its that they finally understand that people want decent quality products not just low prices.

OK so far they may not have delivered low prices, but they have seemed to make pricing the sole focus recently without a care for quality.

If this marks a change in thinking towards delivering true value - ie decent quality at a reasonable price - then I think this might begin to stop Tesco's relative decline. Until that happens, as others have suggested, they need to keep pumping out the Clubcard points to keep customers coming through their doors.

Given how quickly they've got these products out after announcing poor results I think a lot of them will just be rebranded Value goods, with higher prices (as others have said they've done before)

I'm sure people will be doing taste tests soon!

I bought their value Mince (frozen) two days ago and it was disgusting. I asked for a refund under their satisfaction guarantee (as indicated on the packaging) and was told I needed to return the product, not just the wrapper.

Tomorrow I will be delivering them two disgusting home made lasagnas, fished out of my dustbin.

Absolutley brilliant. I just wish i could be in the queue behind you...

On a more serious note i think Tesco customer services (via phone) would be much more sympathetic and possibly give you a gift voucher.
