Without meaning to anger you.....what's a clarks pie?
On a debt free note, I now feel a little bit stuck with my debt busting.... I have no idea how to reduce my OD without incurring a charge of £25 each time which I obviously don't want so trying to work out how I can overpay to that now? Maybe I need to filter money into a savings account until it equals the same as the OD? Or pray for a winfall *sniggers* The DCA can still receive their nominal amount each month as they don't charge me interest. Any hints or tips for the OD welcomed.
Hi Kerri
I would try putting the money in a savings pot until it matches the amount and then pay it off as you suggest - seems like the cheapest option!0 -

£27,500 is infact owed as of this minute. Need to bring this down asap, i am on my way to debt free right this minute and i will not rest until i am there. Great thread, well done all paying off such impressive amounts already.
Mine was at 23,000 a few years back and It's going down very quickly now. It's scary when you first see it written down but to be honest it helps as you know exactly what you are up against!
Keep with it and when you are debt free just think of how proud you will be! :T0 -

Feeling a bit low today, but didn't want to post on my diary thing as am not sure anyone reads it! Good to come on here and read all this positivity though.
Boof, I hope I start cheering up soon
That's a shame you feel low :grouphug:
I think we all feel it from time to time with the debt busting - it takes a lot out of you! For me I tend to think about it all the time and it can get to you... try to give yourself a pat on the back for what you have achieved so far and hopefully you feel better soon0 -
Oh Mr CC, WHY did you not tell me to move £50 less than the balance to the new 0% card? Now you send me a bill that I cant pay anything off
and I dont have the new CC details yet to pay anything toward it
DH is trying to mess with my debt busting people! someone needs to come round here with some duct tape. He wants me to pay off the 2 CC's that have £400 balance each with the extra £180 a month we will have when the loan is gone and get them out the way, I want to pay it off his big CC (£2550) and leave the other 2 to pootle along at £50 a month which will get them both to finish in december
His arguement is, we will then only have 1 debt, my arguement is that I only get to make one payment a month then which is a bit demoralisingso whos right? cast your votes . . . . . now!

Dont worry everyone get likes that sometimes but you need to take control and not spend to make yourself feel better. I like to think about he fact once this is gone i get to move house ( i think about it every day ) . If you have a focus use that and if not make one, a treat, a hol or something you will do. Even thinking about how much easier your life will be have that extra money that you put to CC's at the moment !#28 pay all your debts by Xmas 2019 £2682/7000:)
#66 2019 MFW £90/£7500
also trying to get 6k savings this yearhave this by April . yay

I'd have to vote for the CC with the larger balance! I could cope with the others being smaller but I think that CC would need to get attention first!!
My vote has been cast! :rotfl:0 -

Is the interest rate the same on all of the cards? If yes then I'm afraid I'm with your DH! I would rather snowball like that because then you can throw everything at the last big one, perhaps you could make the payments to the smaller balances and clear them quickly and then run a mini challenge on the side such as selling on ebay, car boot, babysitting etc that would solely go to the larger balance?
Sorry but you did ask! :rotfl::rotfl:DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Stupid obvious question which I know doesn't even need asking, are they all the same rate? Honestly J-M, if they are, I'd do what suits YOU best, after all, it's YOU that's sorting everything out.
Had to pop back here for a bit of sanity, had a quick peek at the savings boards, dear god above. Think I may keep a debt balance of £1 just to keep myself off there!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Lool, yes they are all at 0%
(jakesmum doesnt do interest :rotfl:) ahh spagbol, if I hadnt wanted different opinions I wouldnt have asked
I kind of see his point in it makes the debt look so much smaller, but in my little world of debt busting I like a few little debts as I get to make lots of payments and it makes me feel like im making more of a difference
OK im starting to realise that im actually quite weird
OMG barbeduk, your brave! ive been on this site . . what . . . 6 years, and ive NEVER been on the savings board
So I have 1 vote for my way, 1 vote for DH's way and barbeduks 'on the fence' vote :rotfl: :rotfl:or was she agreeing with me? maybe i'll add her to my side anywaySPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000
