But it has now left me wondering whether the "friends" you know the rubbish ones I know in London, are all talking about me behind my back saying that I'm only moving to Cardiff because of a boy? ....

I think the fact you put "friends" in inverted commas suggest you don't really consider them as worthy friends anyway. We've all done stuff for love so who are they to judge? If you want to move for a boy so what? I bet they've done or would do similar, sounds like sour grapes on their behalf to me kerri.

Only ever been on holiday to Wales so my view of places are based purely on that "sentimental-holiday-feeling" I like the south coast, we go to Tenby a lot, as it's so beautiful.

As for weekly challenge, I've already done my shopping for this week :( but will give it a go next week.

Better get some work done, catch up later xxx

Thanks His Missus :) I think I had a rant awhile back about them not being real friends, so ever since then I've put it as "friends" ;)

I was quite torn between getting everyone to make lemoncurd and buying local. Maybe next week I'll do the lemoncurd/jam challenge ;) it's surprisingly easy/simple to make your own preserves.

    Hi Kerri!

As you say they are "friends" so there opinion doesnt really count but what do they think is so wrong with moving for a boy anyway? I moved to Scotland, 220 miles away from home, to live with my boyfriend of 2 years. I have now lived here for 3 years and have to say its the best decision i ever made. I already had friends here from visiting so often, found a job (with a better wage) before i moved and have a lovely house that took us 6 months to do up. I love visiting everyone back home but i also like to leave again :rotfl:.

You've obviously chosen the right decision for you and genuine friends will respect that.

MrsNoMoney, I don't see anything wrong with moving somewhere because the one you love is there. In fact it makes a huge amount of sense to me given that he's 150 miles away and we're literally on the other side of the UK to each other, even in different countries!

I think it's more that I'm confused by why it's any of this persons business anyway? Although the OH has said that she was probably just trying to get a rise out of me, yet I just nodded and smiled which is probably why she went on for 30 minutes instead of 10. Honestly, some people just have nothing better to do I reckon :)

Right off to Ipswich, going to Braintree for cheap chocolate on the way back and that swedish furniture shop for a bedside lamp :D Superb mood today as just spoke to the bank and they said they don't charge anything for decreasing the OD so I can continue to overpay in £50 amounts to them :D yippeeeeee

mf0u1098 Thanks for asking how I am :)

Sorry I haven't been very active on here, I want to and I read the posts every day. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how I can post using my phone so I have to wait until I'm near a computer and get a chance to post. Reading the posts everyday is very inspiring though and I enjoy the laughs! I am sorely tempted to start making my own bra's by the way - not that I would be able to - as I never find a pair that lives up to my standards. The staps should be wide and the fabric strong and tight to hold it all in. Maybe I shall branch out into wetsuit material...hm..now there's a thought!!

In other news I have perked up a little bit now as I have made two more payments, £247 dd for a personal loan and ....drumroll....£1000 on a cc. I just went for it on the latter! I still have some left on it but with the last payment I have made I've nearly paid 50% off that one so I will pay same amount as I am currently paying minimum payment on it now which should help clear it quicker. I will also make larger payments (right left and center...) once my overtime pay comes in (June/July). So that means my new totals are:

    £1597/£19000

One thing I have noticed is that people take individual approaches to how they include the interest which is accrued on the debt. I think I will just continue providing the totals that I pay and then adjust the total I owe once a year or something (when I know what the interest damage has been overall). So this means I will always be a little behind in terms of my percentage paid - but its all motivation anyway :T

So finally bigger numbers on the left side from me :D

Happy debt busting days to all!
Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

    Thanks Ruth & Jemma!

This is my first week of following Kerri's challenge to pay myself in cash weekly (£50 every Friday) Main bulk of food & travel is paid for monthly so this is for any extra stuff that doesn't fall under this remit, food shop top up, unusual travel, (i.e. not daily commute) going out etc.

So far, so good but I've been ill, off work and not in any mood to spend! However, putting the hours I'd normally spend online shopping into MSE (and Jeremy Kyle) instead. I've learnt quite a lot the past two days just reading posts and articles on here - and having many mini realisations of my financial ignorance.
Could be the most useful two days off work sick ever!

Originally I was planning to be debt free in 2 years' time, but reading everyone's experiences on here has inspired me to do it by May 2013 & use the subsequent year to build up some savings!

Although I am wondering how my £50 budget will fare during the long bank hol weekend coming up, no doubt my flu will have gone by then and I'll have to figure out how to lessen the cost of pub/club drinking. I'm thinking bottle, vodka, handbag ;)
    Student loan £5655

Have just used some Mr T clubcard vouchers to buy 2 £25 iTunes giftcards for gifts for nephew & sister in law (May & June birthdays) Well I never know what to spend them on, the days out and restaurant rewards never really appeal to us so.. we'll look extra generous but we won't feel like we've spent any money :)
