I've updated my signature but it's proving too difficult to post it on my phone.

I also lost 10kg, very happy about that. Just one more to go!!
I'm relieved to be able to join in clearing my debts by Xmas again too due to some good fortune I can't post about :-)

Where is my motivation? If someone sees it please send it back!

I have so many things i can do to bring in a little extra, but i'm struggling to get going. I guess its because I feel 14k in 8 months is unachievable with just 150 quid disposable income :( must drum into my head - bit by bit, every little helps!!

  • Hi everyone! I am still waiting for payday (next monday) to make next debt payment. Am managing to live off DS rent money so not going more overdrawn which is surprising but wonderful. Was getting very worried that I would not make 50% by my birthday next month. It is a BIG goal for me to see myself half way through this pile of debt :D

Sorry I don't post much but I lurk and read for inspiration - thank you all :A

  • Hi all,
Had my payday and have had a dd for a cc come out of account. I increased it from minimum payment to £150 and have decided to dip into a different account of savings to make a more substantial payment towards it at the end of April (will update then).

No number yet but totals are now:

    £350/£19 000

Quite demotivated today despite having made good choices and had a NSD. I just feel like this, my Mount Everst, is too steep to climb. I'm also putting in a lot of extra hours at work, 150 (and counting) since Feb so am properly knackered now. Money I get paid extra in June will go towards debt. Just seems bills and demands for money are neverending...

Cheeezzzz, I'm sure I've brought you all close to despair by that whining post! I'll buck up tomorrow I promise.

<takes out iron to give stiff upper lip a straightening>
Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

I know what you mean EyesWideOpen, the price of everyday things keeps going up and then just when you think you're coping with it something goes wrong or you've forgotten about something that uses up all the spare cash that you had to make further inroads in debt busting!

It's been a pretty expensive month for us, with baby #2 due in June, we've been trying to sort out the spare room and it just seems to be costing a fortune! When hubby was painting the walls he got paint all over the carpet - as he didn't use a dust sheet - so today I've just had to fork out £100 for a new one! Not that I had the money in the first place as I've had to put it on my cc, the one that I'm supposed to paying extra to. Oh well, managed to 'save' quite a bit of money as DD's old baby clothes have come up really well in the wash so I won't need to a buy a thing for baby and what with the asda event that's been on this week, I managed to get quite a good deal on some nappies.

On the brighter side it's hubby's pay day tomorrow so should be back on track then.

    Hellooooooooooooooo DFBX'ers

DH and I have been sat here tonight talking DS's birthday  he'll be 11 and is off to secondary as we all know. So we are thinking a phone, he's had one since he was 9 and its a PAYG which I never remember to top up and has now become a glorified alarm clock as the sim is not active anymore :rotfl:
Anyway we are discussing a contract phone for him as theres some good deals out there, 24 months for £10.50, before christmas he carried around his dads old contract phone as Mr Jakes-mum (he who cannot wait) had to get a new one before his old contract ran out. DS was extremely good, hardly used any minutes and took really good care of it so im quite tempted.
    *sigh* decisions decisions . . .

    Hi Jakesmum
Have a good shop around. Tesco mobile do some great deals from £7.50 per month with 250 mins and 5000 texts so more than enough. Plus you can cap the usage so they can't go over (just in case!)

Ahh thank you for that, I have had a quick scout on tesco mobile (as well as all the others :rotfl:) one thing we have decided is that as hes off to secondary school we wont just get him the cheapest phone we can find, we want something half decent (street cred and all that, last thing any parent wants is their kid to be laughed at) he isnt getting anything anywhere near an iphone though, so am looking at the HTC atm as it looks a pretty nice phone without being majorly expensive and liable to walking off with another kid while hes out doing gym or something

Well i have to admit that's been my downfall this month. My purchase of a new contract phone was the reason for my splurge and not paying so much off my debts this month. I know its not very MSE.
    I don't regret it though; i love my phone. Sorry MSE'rs :o

I got a new phone too. And had a holiday. so I'm not suprised this month has been hideous. Pay day today, so did the month's budget. No money over for extra payments (again!) but will be making regular ones as usual, hoping that a few Evilbay bits sell!
