Oooh well done! How many do I need for my third star?vw_campervan_mum wrote: »Ok I am going to stick with current debt - I am going to see it through to the very end (I am very good at starting things & not finishing them and this is TOO important to do that lol)
# 234 £10480/£12468 84% paid off!
My next payday is New Year's Eve which is the anniversary of starting this challenge. Although I didn't pay all debt off by 1st Nov as I hoped or even Xmas, I am still very pleased that I have stuck with it as the previous years of trying really didn't get me anywhere!
I have paid off nearly £10,000!!! Not bad for a single mum. I am going to have a lovely Xmas with my family and some relaxed spending rules - then back on the straight and narrow in the New Year until the debt is completely eliminated!
Good Luck everyone with the new challenge and I hope you all feel proud of your effort over the last year

Right, I'm thinking about the new thread. Do I just start the thread and write 10 or so posts then I can go back and edit them with instructions, people's names, targets and totals etc.
And let me know by the end of today if you'd like to keep your number. I think so far just Kerri, Jemma, suzitiger and Jakes Mum are keeping theirs? And possibly me too so I don't get confused :rotfl:
Apologies in advance if I muck this up, I am a bit of an IT dunce...:oDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

Evening all,
#003 reporting in for duty. I finally received my work bonus today so I am now technically...DEBT FREE :j I have in fact still got one loan outstanding but I now have the money in the bank to pay it off. As the loan payments are manageable and don't affect my ability to get a mortgage, I'm actually going to keep the loan running as normal and keep the money as savings (a) in case of an emergency and (b) as the start of a house deposit, but having the money there means I'm technically debt free so challenge achieved! Its a lovely feeling to be in control of my finances for the first time since I was 18 and I can now focus on saving for the elusive house deposit.
A big thank you to Jemma for starting this thread and keeping it going (as well as all you regular contributors!) - its really helped me keep on track and push to save more and more as Christmas has neared.
Good luck to those of you still plugging away - every penny helps so keep going!
Merry Christmas everyone
