    Hello All!

Lovely wedding for my beautiful sister and grand BIL (how weird is it I have one of those now!). I won't be putting any pics up unfortunately as I want to sort of protect their identity :) Almost feel back to normal now :rotfl: Very surreal few days. Must get back with the uni work, really slacked on this module I am doing  Back at work next week too, this is a good thing really as I am SOOOOPER skint now  and still two weeks till payday. DOUBLE :eek:

Anyhoo. I am going through some paper work trying to find P60s for my mileage claim which the taxman need. Why they are asking me for this info is beyond me.......SURELY THEY HAVE THE INFO RIGHT INFRONT OF THEM???:mad: They also have their facts wrong too as apparently I was working in a particular job BUT IT WAS A YEAR EARLIER i was actually in that job. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I shall give them a piece of my mind if I can get through on the phone tomorrow. If they think I am going to give up on £1000 they are sorely mistaken! :D

One last thing from me...................! I have two old laptops sitting under my bed, do any companies take them off your hands for a few quid, like they do the mobiles?

    Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeers xxx
    In debt no more!

Wipe the hard drives and stick them on ebay.... I got £60 a few years ago for my laptop with a broken screen and cd drive. Although I put one up a month ago and only got £25.

Woohoo - hubby and I got a wage increase this week but rather than tell him about it (noticed on our bank statement) I'm just putting that increase into a seperate bank account (e-account) to save for our holiday in November. By then we should have £900 which is enough for our 2 week trip in Florida - and we won't have noticed we were saving it as its not something we ever got used to. Does that make any sense to anyone but me?

Sounds like a plan to me, I have to organise my hubby's money too! Well done on the payrises too :j

DH has the same thoughts re debt, im firmly in the scrimp as much as you can for a year and get rid of the noose completely train of thought. Once the debt is gone I will tackle the mortgage but nowhere near on the scale ive been tackling the debt. We will both have pocket money each month and there will be (for the first time) an entertainment fund which will cover a meal out every month for the 4 of us and some activities for school holidays. Plus I am determined to have a holiday fund so we go abroad every year :o.

This is exactly what we are doing this year. We don't go out, no clothes, takeaways etc. We tried for a few years "living a little" but we clearly lived far too well during that time as we managed to rack up about £10k extra debt a year :eek: We've paid off £6k already since xmas just from cutting out frippery, I dread to think how much money we've tipped down the drain over the years...:o

My DH is also of a "deserve a treat" mentality, I'm being tough this year and he is going along with it but as soon as he gets given an inch, he takes a mile. I blame my ILs for never teaching him the value of money :rotfl::rotfl:

My DH is the same - the kind of 'I work hard so I deserve it' thing. It's very hard to get through to them that this kind of attitude has caused the debts in the first place. We have been buying stuff even when there's no money or debts and although I've had my LBM - I'm not convinced he's quite there yet .

Ahh yes the 'ive worked hard reward me' arguement, one of my favourite ones to refute that :D. I actually sat Dh down this morning for one of our reminder chats, just to keep him on my page ;). He seemed to be happy at the end of it as its nice to remind him this is just for a year, not the rest of our lives! Plus it reminds him that giving up everything this year leads to him getting a nice pocket money next year :D

Oh no, not good when the little ones are sick :( big virtual hug to him :( I do sit there sometimes and ask 'what the heck did they want it for??' on my own items  I just cant believe some things people bid on, but its all good for me :rotfl:

I have been a bit naughty today :o We went shopping and ended up spending £115 . In my defence £60 of it is actually second purse shopping but I bought a new handbag for £35 (mine was falling apart and has been recycled to Miss Lily whos walking around saying 'im off to shool bye!') and £16 on a lunch out :o and then £4 on grocery shopping. Doesnt sound so bad like that, but still was alot of money in one go
