:wave:Morning all!
Been a bit absent since getting back from hols, been busy, busy, busy at work but have managed to catch up on all the chat from the past few weeks.
Had a fab holiday and we stuck to our budget of £300 spends. Just had to go slightly into DH's OD so we could buy food when we got home.
:jPayday today, so have paid £500 towards the CC. Only spent £35 on it in the past month - and that was only because I walked into town one lunchtime and got so drenched I had to buy something to change into when I got back to work:D - I did need some new work clothes though so...

Congratulations Superheavy that's fantastic news!
My hubby has been twittering (not on the website but normal chit chat) about paying upfront for a years worth of line rental with our phone company and I always thought "what's the point as we haven't got the spare money", but having just worked it out, even if I put it on my CC at a whopping 27.72%, it is still cheaper with the interest than paying it monthly! So I think I may suggest it to him when we get tax credits tomorrow that instead of paying it all off my cc, some could be used for the line rental and it should still save us just under £30 a year!£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Well done on being debt free! I cannot wait to get that feeling! Seeing other people do so well gets me wanting that day sooner....Long time no speak - but been reading along most days!
Bit of an updte of whats been happening -
I have recently had my ex removed from mortgage and deeds - transfer of equity completed so house is all in one name = massive stress removed! All went through ok! Had to pay out some money to her (£1700) which while I am happy to get the house in my name - is not very good for the debt busting!
I need to start paying my Dad back for the money he lent for a car. It's £100 a month that's agreed but I cannot put this off any longer!
Debt busting has been poor at best. Some additions and minimal payments over the last few months. Thankfully it has not got out of control!!
So: 010 :j rjh35 £7,540/ £15,461.76
I have been getting finances in order to date and managed to get my credit cards sorted (in terms of balance transfers and interest rates). Need to clear my barclaycard with a £450 balance asap as paying interest on that. Hopefully get this done with Septembers wage. My bank of scotland stands at £1000 and 0% runs out in November- need to pay this off before then but it's likely to be done in end of December. The majority (£6090) is now on a fluid credit card at 0% until December 2013.
I have now accepted that I won't be debt free by this crhistmas unfortunately! My new target is now December 2013 when the 0% runs out on my Fluid credit card.
I feel a lot more relaxed by this! While I am still keen to get this cleared, I think my whole mind set has changed, and the hard work, saving, ebaying is just second nature now. Paying off the odd pound here and there is happening, and it will, in time, sort itself out. I guess that's what this journey so far has given me!
Thank you all for the inspiration of reading all your posts!
But....I am sat here now with a new boiler being put in - the other one limped through the last couple of winters and tried it this week - nothing! It is 20 odd years old so no surprise there! Costing a fortune and being added to the credit card debt - but got the cheapest of about 7 quotes (And they seem really good) so suppose there is a little money saving in there!
Also had the car phone up about my car thats in for the service - 3 new tyres required and one one the verge of needing replaced! Argh!! I am sat here with guys wizzing around doing boilers and I am trying to figure out my budget and best ways to pay for all this!!! Could scream!! I have gone from being comfortable that I was not paying interest on my card and could pay it off in that timescale - to not having a clue!! Scary how the mood changes with debts!!
Free listing this weekend on ebay - might make a quid or so to go towards the boiler :rotfl:
Rant over!! :rotfl: Enjoy the weekend :beer:0 -
Hmmm im a tad confused with my total  when we bought DH's car on the 0% purchases card I never added it to my total, keeping it as a seperate bill but having updated my figures on my spreadsheet I have found my total owed is £100 less on there than on here and that INCLUDES the car CC  Where have I gone wrong
So now the question is do I just accept the figure now includes the car CC and go from there or do I declare the extra £350 off my total (£100 that over by and the £250 CC balance) and keep them seperate  help?? anyone??SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Jakes-mum was there a particular reason you kept them separate? Really now I don't think it makes a difference as adding it to your total won't see the amount you owe go up so you may as well add it now and declare everything you pay off.
You should be nearly there now shouldn't you? :jGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Jakes-mum - I agree with starnac. If the debts not going up, just add it.
Minimum payment went off today, down to £215. Interest should be less than a fiver. 25 days to DFD.
Off work today. Kept sneezing at work all day yesterday and evening was just terrible. After croggy morning, I'm actually not feeling too bad now. Not sure I should go for a 15/20mile walk tomorrow though...can't decide.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
