That's cool, thanks. I know what you mean, it's not even about the actual goal for many, it's about staying focused and paying as much as possible within our own expectations and circumstances. It fills me with absolute joy to read people on this thread being so supportive to relative strangers, it is phenomenal. How will we ever thank those who set it up and maintain it? Jemma- are you managing it single handed or is someone helping? It's do long since the start I can't remember!

:A:A:A I update the totals and bascially "run" the thread BUT this thread would have died long ago where it not for all the lovely people in this challenge who post, support and encourage each other and make us all laugh. It is each and every one of you who should be thanked for making this thread what it is. I may have a cunning plan for next year tho... ;)

Argh, im in such a catch 22! I have an old hoover ive popped up on facebook for pennies (literally! I want rid of it!) had quite a bit of interest so offered to the first to ask who didnt get back to me, mailed them 3 times and ended up saying id have to offer to next on list, have done so (they havent replied yet but tbh they could be up the pub) and first refusal has just popped up saying they were at work is it still available :(

Technically yes it is but as ive offered it to next in line now I feel I have to give them a chance to say yay or nay :( I can sooooo see myself being stuck with it till next week now and really wanted rid this weekend :(

On a more positive note I realised in my excitement over £2k to go i missed my 3/4 of total paid off milestone  so yay me :o

If the 2nd choice people don't get back to you by midday then I'd sell it to the 1st choice people.

    :j:j:j on your 3/4 milestone!!! :T:T:T

Pyschopathbabble – ooooh you’ll have to let us see the picky of you in that magazine! How’s it going at fat club? Have you had your first weigh in yet? (Don’t worry you don’t need to tell us the weight hun, I’m not THAT nosy!)

Vw campervan mum – glad you had a great time in Brighton and it’s great to see you in the 60%+ now!!! Your post about your shopping binge really made me laugh. I’m like this, I’ll do really well and then spend loads of money in one go. It’s like when you diet for a few weeks and then go mad at the chocolate counter!

Tirlittan – ooooh exciting! I hope you’re enjoying you cycling around Wales. You’ll have to tell us all where you’ve been!

Kerri_dfw – fab news on your bonus! How have you been getting on listing the 7 boxes of stuff? Well done on selling your crafty items!

Lemonpopsicle – Wow you DS1 has earned some amazing grades!!!!!!!! You’ve every right to be a proud mummy. You are so close to finish line now, I love all the payments you keep making!

Canucksfan – hey you! How are you? My sister’s due date is 10th Feb (my birthday is 9th Feb, my other sister’s is 14th Feb and my Uncle’s is 21st Feb – obviously my family seems to get bored around the same time each year...!) OOOooooooh what are people over the pond saying about the Olympics????

Fallenwiccan – awwwww hun your piccy is lovely!!!

Ruthy1604 – oh dear Ruthy, sounds like you had a horrendous time with your car! But well done on getting over 70% paid off!!!!

Jakes-mum – how on earth did I miss that you’d paid off you PO C/C???? Well done!!!

Fritterprincess, I often think that overdrafts are worse than credit cards cos you don’t get monthly statements to shock you, it’s just always there. They charge a % but it doesn’t bother us like it does on a C/C. Weird! I was so happy when I paid my overdraft off. I knew I had to do it before I paid off my C/C’s cos 1) my C/C’s were on 0% but my overdrafts charged and 2) I would only fritter away the money when I should have been paying it off my C/C’s. You’ll get there hun and we’ll be right there with you!

Catmort – I probably speak for everyone when I say we all understand how you feel about being disheartened. We’ve all had points during this journey when things have unexpectedly happened to trip us on our way to debt freedom. Just look what you’ve achieved though: you’ve paid off 62%...I’ll say it again 62%!!!! of your debt. That is a massive amount of money. To top it all off, you’ve also lost 13kgs!!!! That’s huge!!! Please please please don’t get caught up on the date and feel like you’re a failure just cos you now won’t be debt free by then. I’m not giving up although I’m £2k down from where I should be. I’m going to keep going and my main focus is to get rid of my credit cards. Maybe you could do something like that? Split your debts into a slighter smaller goal and join us in the DFBE13 (debt free by easter challenge) or the DFBX13 to clear the rest?

Mrs Addicted to Spending – As above, about life’s little bumps and also how amazing your total is hun! I bet you can’t wait to finish to finish uni! What is the course you’re doing?

Choclover – no I haven’t watched the hairy bikers, have you tried any of their recipes???? The reward chart is a great idea!

    Brightpurple – WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Superheavy – I can’t wait until the 20th Sep to see you reach your DFD.

Mrsyallop – an “oh dear” and “hurrah” post! Not good on the laptop front but definitely thumbs up for the ipad!

Nctmum – how did you do at the car boot???

Muppets – blimey where did that brilliant total come from???!

SeriousDFW – You sound like you’re in a really positive frame of mind and I have no doubt that you’ll still be DFBX12!!!! It’s weird isn’t it how we’ve been brainwashed as a society to see fatty foods as treats. It doesn’t help that they taste amazing... The problem is that after craving the food enough to cave in, the “high” doesn’t last long, usually by the first few mouthfuls I start to feel guilty for having it and for spending the money, thinking I’ve failed to curb my willpower again...yada yada yada...! I think changing our perspectives is definitely the way forward.

Helen Pie – that was lovely of the guy at the bank to advise you to not pay off the entire loan at once or you would lose money. I’m impressed! I think trying to decide on what career to choose is one of the hardest decisions ever. It’s so hard to change from what you’re used to and try something new. I hope you find the career for you x

Mrso2b – you are soooooooo close to 30%!!!

His Missus – hope you’re enjoying your hols and the lovely batch cooking you’ve done! One day I hope we can all afford unexpected spends without worrying...

Oompa Loompa – no problem, I have changed your totals. Whatever works for you is fine x

Spagbol – Brilliant idea! Grocery challenge! I don’t why it’s just hit me like a bolt of lightening but I think I’m in the right from of mind to do this. I was also inspired by His Missus’s post about batch cooking. Looks like I might be getting my debtloss mojo back!!!

1stTimer – don’t worry, you’ve not given up which is the most important thing. Just keep plugging away, you’ve made a huge dent in your debts since you joined!

Recurrent-ostrich – I had a big beaming smile on my face when I read that you felt brave enough to declare your TOTAL paid off %. 14.1% is a fantastic achievement and I love that in your signature, the months are coming down for your DFD. Keep up the hard work!

Malmol09 – Not long now till you’re at 20% paid off! And it’s an amazing feeling when you finally get your debt down into 4 digits... keep going and you’ll get there in no time!

Munchin – it’s lovely to hear from you! Nearly 70% paid off, wow!!!

Tinks14 – I’m afraid I haven’t heard of Shopper Thoughts, is it a mystery shopper type thing?

Shrewbie – you certainly are at over 20%, in fact you’re at 23.28% paid off so almost a quarter of your debt paid off!!!

May2013 – Thank you for your lovely words, I am so glad to hear that this challenge has helped so many people, it’s very humbling... Well done for reaching your DFD, from your signature it looks like it was a long hard journey, you’re an inspiration to us all xxx

Bonglecat – how weird! My friend has just done the exact same thing. She just decided one day that she wasn’t going to smoke any more and hasn’t had a cigarette for over 3 months now. She doesn’t have the gum and hasn’t caved in once! I think it’s like the debtloss or weightloss, if your head’s in the right place then anything is possible. Huge congrats to your hubby (and your bank balance!)

Parsniphead – lovely chunk of cash paid off!

Canucksfan – I wonder where Kerfuffle’s gone??? I hope she’s ok! Your kids sound like the next Mr Branson with their business heads on!!! Really glad to hear that you and the babba are doing well x

I don't believe there is an update day - update whenever you want. If this is wrong please tell me as I have obviously not been doing it at the right time!

I update all the time and I love seeing the daily updates :) I hope that's allowed? :rotfl: The month where a few people were doing a payment every day was really good.

Canucksfan, I've just read your post on the official debt free roll of honour (I forget there's a real one!) and I just want to say that I'm really glad that this challenge caught your eye cos it's been a pleasure having you on board as a DFW and even better now you can encourage us all to keep going from the "light side". xxx
