The last few days have been awful and spent a lot of it in tears cos of work. can't go into details as they could look at this but i've now to weigh up whether i want to leave and have to stay with my parents for foreseeable future or stay and learn to live with what's going on at work.

But it's a beautiful day and i'm not going to let them ruin my weekend! trying to decide where to go today...hmmmmmmmm...

Loubie, we all know you can do this hun. it takes a strong person to keep getting up when we've had a fall off the debt busting but not give in. everyone here struggles with this but the key is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back to it. we're always here to support you!x

Spagbol, unfortunately no sign of kerri yet. i really hope she's ok x

affordmylife, any news on the interview??? x

credit crunched, good to hear from you. wow you're doing well! x

  • Hi Jemma,

Sorry to hear things are rubbish at work, I suppose that jobs tend to be temporary and can be changed, while family are with you for the majority of your life, and can't be changed (as much as I would like to sometimes!).

While you're going out enjoying some sun, I'll be doing some washing. Rocknroll baby!

Good luck getting the job loubie-lou, should be really helpful in getting the debts out of the way!

Sorry to hear things are like this for you at work. I have had that situation before (I did leave and it was the right thing for me to do although a bit of a problem financially!) and really feel for you. You must do what's right for you :)

    Hi Everyone....

    Long time no type!!!

I thought I'd pop in to say I haven't forgotten my pledge....

    So...

    £506.61 paid off for me....

    #063 - 2474.48 / 17630.02 - 14.03%

I'm not doing ***as*** well as I'd hoped, but things are looking so much better!!

The massive turn around for me is that I have not touched my CC this year and have had some big car repairs to pay for etc etc. So I am SO SO PLEASED with my little self!! The attitude has changed and I feel like I'm winning (on target for a Gold Medal I hope, in keeping with the Olympic theme!!).

Hope you are all well, sorry to read things haven't been good for you at work Jemma (I've literally only managed to catch up on the last few posts).

Although I am now very unlikely to be debt free by Xmas, I will most definately be debt savy and hopefully reach the 25% less debt if I work hard!!

Keep up the good work people xx:T

Congratulations affordmylife, that's great news and I'm sure there are plenty of us who will be in the same situation come Christmas time. And even for those who will still have debts to deal with, there's no doubt that having smaller debts will make it easier to enjoy the festive season.

I'm hoping to be in the same situation.

    Hi everyone,

Haven't had much chance to keep up with the thread over the last month or so, but congratulations to everyone who is sticking with it and paying down the debt. A little update from me:

    #003 £7,497 / £12,459

My debt situation is actually better than this as I've managed to save a decent amount (£3.5k) towards paying off my last loan which isn't included in the figures above, however, I'm currently considering whether I actually do pay this off my last loan or whether I let the loan run its course and use the money as the start of my house deposit. If I did this I could be in a position to buy a house next year which I never thought would be possible. It would just mean I would have one loan left for the next couple of years whilst it runs its course. I've checked that the monthly amount doesn't affect my ability to get a mortgage as well. So anyway if I decide to do this, I will technically fail this challenge because I wont pay off all my debt by Christmas but I will have the money in the bank to pay it off if that makes sense! Got a few more months to think about it before Christmas anyway so I'll see how things go.

Thanks for keeping everything going Jemma. Hope your work situation gets sorted soon.
