Hi all just a little update from me.
I've made payments of £100 each to my credit card and work for season tkt loan. I won't update the figures for my overdraft until the end of the month as it's so much more confusing!

Interest was just added to cc, I changed my sig to reflect this but didn't like that debt went up so decided to pay £21.75 off to get a nice round number. (Used mobile cash back money to do it).

I know that everyone is probably sick to death of hearing about my sharesave, but it finally came in today, and I was able to pay off my HSBC loan. Thus leaving me with a credit card which is on 0% left to pay off. There was a good 10 minutes after I paid off the loan where I was smiling. And I never smile at work.

Jemma - my totals on the front page haven't been updated for a while, please could you reduce my starting figure to 11616.56 and update my totals and percentage to the above. Ta Chuck, when you've got a minute, no panic.

VWCampervan mum - I agree with the others - if you take out a car loan just view it as a necessary expense (a bit like petrol) and not part of your overall debt. Put it in your budget and just pay it off monthly like every other bill. This means you will still achieve your main goal of being debt free, apart from this
.
Really I do think that car loans are sometimes essential, a bit like a mortgage. When I finish Uni next year, if I get a job and need a car to get to work, I'll have to take out a loan as I won't have a chance to save any money. But I'm going to make sure that then I save for the next car I need, so that for once in my life, I don't need to take out a loan to buy one (well I can always dream).
My goal is to pay off these debts and then avoid spending on things I don't need and can't afford and getting myself in debt because of it. Hopefully the training I'm receiving during this year and next will help me achieve this.
