Well, my car has been written off by the floods up here!
The insurance company is paying out but I will have to spend more money to buy a new car. Very annoying as I just got this one in October.
Not sure how far behind I will be and I am not sure I will be able to clear everything by Christmas now which is a real shame. Still trying though!
I missed this post the first time round, sorry to hear about your car mrsyallop.sydneybean wrote: »well now there is no football or tennis to distract me i really need to get my bottom into gear and really start moving more of this debt. have sent off a couple of ppi claims although not hugely hopeful but will see.
got my council tax benefit award this morning..... the princely sum of....drum roll..........60 PENCE A WEEK:rotfl:
still it works out about £4 a month so am quite happy with that :T need to go to local leisure centre now as believe if you get ct benefit you get a nice little card giving you reduced prices for swimming etc, that will come in handy for dd during summer hols...
Fingers crossed with the PPI claims sydneybean, as we've just been discussing in other posts, something, however little, is better than nothing0 -
Argh I missed Mrsyallop post too! So sorry about your car

My fella was very stressed about the car but that's what I said to him Jakes-Mum. Just glad he was not hurt!0

Hugs to all that need it and a  to all those who have made payments or have things to celebrate!
well i had a crazy idea to do a bootfair yesterday regardless of the weather forecastwow did we get muddy!
Sat night i loaded the car up and when i got up on Sun i thought rather than unload it all again i'd take the chance, so we visited 3 that were closed before we found one that was open.
managed a whole 2 hours there before everything got wet and muddy and knew it was time to throw in the towel (it took me 10 mins to get the car back on the road as i was wheel spinning in the field haha)
however... did manage to get £90 out of it! so although i wont do that again in the rain i am quite chuffed.
I've also got a £500 PPI claim back so new total

Well at least you are honest about it! It is hard when one person feels this is It and the other doesn't...'You've got to tell your money what to do or it will leave!' Dave Ramsey0

Well I've just sent my friend the "I just want to be friends" text and I feel awful...
You did the right thing Jemma, best to nip it in the bud now, if he wants to meet up as friends then he knows where he stands. If you hadn't texted him then he might be thinking he's in with a chance and that would make the situation worse.
<<hugs and a pat on the back for you>>0 -
Thanks guys, sorry I've been updating. xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Nctmum – you are so close to 20% paid off hun, I know it’s horrid when you have had to increase your debt but please don’t give up. You can do this, you have come so far already x Anyway, it’s not £18k missy, it’s only £15k!!!
His missus – has your OH been to his concert(s) yet?
Mrs Addicted to Spending – I really sympathise with you and others in your situation where there is more than one person paying off the debt (or spending the money instead!). It must be really frustrating to not be in complete control!
BrandNewStart – hey you, how are you? How’s the cycling?
Loubie_lou – hope you’re having a great time!!!
Vw campervanmum – eek you’ve reminded me that my car insurance is due in a month, doesn’t it suck! Hey VW, you’re over 50% paid off, we all have bad months for different reasons but you definitely should be proud that you’re debt isn’t increasing!
Psychopathbabble – wow, sounds like you had an awesome time, when do you start work?
Mumof3plusoh – how frustrating, any closer to accessing your account?
Spagbol – wow, that’s a fab total!!

Well done Jemma on letting your friend down gently. It is a shame to spoil a good friendship.
