  • Busy weekend. Still, back to the grind tomorrow. Start week 3 of my 10 week final placement tomorrow, have a job application to complete this week, so still busy, busy, busy. Am not updating my total until the end of the month when all the statements are in and loan payment had gone out, but am now sub £40K. :j Should also hit 50% of my £10K before Christmas this month too. Am really pleased that , for the first time in 10 years, our debt is going down and not up. And that is thanks to you lot, each and every one of you has been so supportive.

    Morning all,

congratulations to everyone making payments and hugs to those with bad news or just stressing out over things at the moment.

Im not really sure where ive been tbh, I have been reading but havent really had anything to post :(

Had a pretty nice weekend, kids stayed down their grans as she took them to see the torch come through (at 7am  I didnt even know there were two 7 o'clocks!) Jake was very lucky as the runner stopped right in front of him to pass the flame :) Lily really had no idea what was going on but she enjoyed waving the flag gran bought her :o
DH and I went out for dinner (this is becoming a bit regular isnt it ) and it cost us the princely sum of £26 :D no debt payments as no bills to pay :( had a new CT bill through with benefit taken off for 16th to 22nd April for the grand total of £2.40 :rotfl: im assuming this is from when I didnt send in all my info on time and I will get another one in a few weeks . . . if not, well its still £2.40 I didnt have to pay them ;)

Hi all, really bad month for me due to all the spending on the cc last month, I've gone so far backwards I don't know if I'll reach my target my xmas :(. I really need to get my s*** together! Hubby's started ebaying again to try and recoup some money there.

    #304 £1,109.94/£5,210.12 (21.3%)

On the plus side it's my birthday on Wednesday, but it's also my dd and my sisters birthdays next week (oh and MIL too!) so quite a busy and expensive week to come, but then after that it's strict budgets all the way to xmas!

Well done to everyone making payments, for those with the shares maturing, I took out one of those 15 year plans out of the newspaper when I was 19 and it matures next year :D so I'm going to buy my first decent car without finance! I'm really looking forward to seeing how much is in there as I paid in over £6k and we had some really good interest years so we are hoping for at least £7k :o? Got to give my mum £1k back as she took over the payments when I had ds for a while so I kept a record of how many months she paid so I can reimburse her (she doesn't know as I know she'll try and get me to keep it as it was so long ago, but she's having it back in pound notes so I can dump it and run before she can argue :D)

Sadly I also took out one of those with profit plans for 15 years but only for £5 per month, I had paid in £900 so when it matured 2 years ago I figured money back plus profits so that would be over a grand, right? Wrong I got back £640 . When I got ready to complain I checked over the small print and I found I only get back 1/2 my payments plus the annual bonuses. In the old days of profits being sky high this would have been fantastic but these days not so much. That's the trouble with these long term plans the financial markets change so much in those 15 years as to make these worthless. :(

I don't want to be a "downer" and I really hope your plan is different to the one I got lumbered with, but I would warn you not to get your hopes up too much until you actually get your maturity figures.

Well, my car has been written off by the floods up here!
The insurance company is paying out but I will have to spend more money to buy a new car. Very annoying as I just got this one in October.
Not sure how far behind I will be and I am not sure I will be able to clear everything by Christmas now which is a real shame. Still trying though!
