I'm with you there, hitting £1m would be fantastic! I know i've let the side down this passed month, but I'm feeling quite upbeat about the next few months and am still on track to paying off my target of £5210!£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

I got my sharesave forms through today, and hoping I can bank around £1500 after tax and NI when they mature on Aug 1st so fingers crossed.... that means I'd be down to less than £500 which I should be able to pay off with the next couple of wage packets.... excited!!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

Hi Folks,
Happy to report that I've made the usual loan payment to santander, and an additional payment to Bank of Mum & Dad, so:-

I've got mine coming through on the same day, and I'm hoping it'll be enough to cover the second of my loans, which would leave me with just a CC on 0% to pay. Although I've been putting in for three years, it still feels like a windfall and it would be a huge step for my finances!DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

I know, it does feel like you won something doesn't it! I'm a bit sad to cash them in as our shares are on the increase, and I cancelled my other policies when I thought I was leaving, but for something you don't even notice you are paying, it's fab
Bonglecat, it's very exciting isn't it! Mine is swallowed by debt, but then I'll be on the home straight!
I don't think I'll make the top 5 (haven't we had 4 already?) but top 10 I hope so!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Psychopathbabble - I'm really hoping that in 2 years time my debt will be gone and the joint loan (aka DHs cc) will be very small and manageable, otherwise I will be tempted to use this to pay that off too.
I did something yesterday I had been trying not to do, but needs must.
I also have a shareownership scheme at work where £25 is taken out of my salary before I get it and used to buy shares in the company. I like to think of it as my nest egg. However, when things got bad a couple of years ago I cashed it all in used it to make some significant reductions in debt (nearly £3000).
This time I only have £950, but given recent circumstances and the fact I am restricting the availablity of credit to me I have decided to cash in again. You have to hold the shares for a certain amount of time before you can get them back tax free, so I will be getting £200 immediately and then about £730 in my August salary, so that will be taxed and I should have £500 net.
It's DHs birthday next Friday and his present is a meal at a posh restaurant so I will need around £200 for that. Then the £500 will either represent spending money for our holiday in September or pay off a bit extra on the M&S card. Probably the former as I no longer have an emergency fund to dip into and the holiday is my (special) birthday present, so I want it to be great. My Debt Free Diary LBM March 2010

Good morning, no updates for me
DH and I have both been suffering with bad tummies so he has been off work the last 2 days. Not good when he only just earns enough to cover the bills out of his bank! He was £100 extra last month though so hoping that makes up the short fall.
Just sent back my ESA form and applied for CT benefit (as the governments website calculator said we should be entitled) so now sat waiting hoping for good news and that ESA won't try to put me back in the WRAG group as I fall squarely into the support group under mobility, but ATOS are a law unto themselves so still a bit worried
Well done to everyone making payments, for those with the shares maturing, I took out one of those 15 year plans out of the newspaper when I was 19 and it matures next yearso I'm going to buy my first decent car without finance! I'm really looking forward to seeing how much is in there as I paid in over £6k and we had some really good interest years so we are hoping for at least £7k
? Got to give my mum £1k back as she took over the payments when I had ds for a while so I kept a record of how many months she paid so I can reimburse her (she doesn't know as I know she'll try and get me to keep it as it was so long ago, but she's having it back in pound notes so I can dump it and run before she can argue

True, you could name them after horrible bosses or something :rotfl:
I got the idea after watching an episode of Holby City where a girl named her cancer Raymond. On the lloyds website you can change account names, so the loan comes up as Raymond! Can't say I'm enjoying my relationship with him, but he won't be around forever!October make £10/day currently £11.020
