Egg card paid and closed – YES!!!
That's the Egg card paid and closed, First Direct paid and closed and planning on clearing hubby's Barclaycard either this month (if I can) or next month so that will be another card done and dusted.
That leaves me with 3 cards:
Halifax 23.9%
Barclaycard 16.9%
Santander 16.9%
Just been accepted for a First Direct card with 0% on balance transfers for 20 months so planning on BTing some of the remaining debt. I asked for a 5k limit but I might call them once it's up and running to see if they can up it to 7k cause that would cover the Halifax and the Barclaycard.
Alternatively I will transfer the Halifax debt (just under £3K), pay it off as quickly as possible and then do the same with the Barclaycard and Santander – actually I might do this rather than up the limit as it will be an incentive to clear the cards as quickly as possible if I'm being charged interest!
After this I am NEVER getting into debt again!

I cleared my Halifax Card a while back (via a BT) and when I rang up to close it they offered me a 0% BT on that card too.
Might be an option mrso2b.I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T0 -

P.S. I once put my status on facebook as 'ive just been trimming my bush and its looking darn neat if I do say so myself' had alot of replies to that . . . all dirty  i'd been out the front in the garden
J-M you are so funny just spat my mouthful of tea everywhere!!

I am such an idiot, I fell UP the stairs at work... I've grazed my arm (which stings!) and my back is sore as I must have twisted trying to stop myself from banging my head into the door! What a moron....
They had to call the first aider to put it in the accident book and he told me that I needed to take my "kit off" so he could do a thorough examination... cheeky monkey! Men! :rotfl:
Oh no Jemma - hope you feel better soon. :rotfl:at the First Aider though.
Ahh psychobig hug to you. Im coming up to 3 years stuck at home  and I soon learnt who my 'mates' were. I actually have one 'mate' who has the same illness, has been through the same problems (housebound etc) and now shes getting her life back has dropped me like a stone for the people who dropped her like a stone when she got ill. I made the decision that she is just as shallow as they are and they deserve each other, and I certainly wont be there to pick the pieces up if she relapses and they f off again.
Have you thought about amateur dramatics? you dont have to be into acting to join as there is lots of behind the scenes stuff, and though they can be cliquey, theres so much sitting around you cant help but get to know everyone (plus its alot of fun)
Im my news, have seriously done myself in today trying to get the latest ATOS medical form filled in  bloomin hate them, takes me 5 days to fill the bloomin thing in, which means 5 days of feeling carp, then they come back with the wrong decision so have to spend months appealing with the stress and illness that goes with that, get the right decision for them to send me another bloomin review form 2 months later and the cycle continues
Also taken DD to her school visit today and tried to be friendly with the other mums that were there that knew each other (I know no-one) whilst feeling carp before struggling back to the car and home to my trusty chair of doom. Really narked off today and grumpy . . . psycho move up to cambridge

Pedro - that sounds really painful - I hope your leg gets better soon.
Thanks for all your views on the medical insurance. Jemma - we haven't got any details on the scale of the cover but it just says all consultations, investigations and treatment must be pre-authorised so it sounds like it covers everything - but just at a very 'excessive' price lol. I think we'll cancel it and save the £21 in an account as per everyone's suggestions and watch the money build up.

Psychobabble - *hugs* to you. You're right to try new places for friends - even if the Circle doesn't work at least it's a step in the right direction. Those previous 'friends' definitely need to be kicked into touch (with a hobnail boot preferably

I was at the self service tills at Asda after work and my back just went. My mum had to carry on as I was in a lot of pain. Apparently twisting is out of the question now! I was planning on giong for a long walk this evening but it's now out of he question. Looks like I'll have to take it easy for a few days and then I'll start building up my core again. Very annoying!New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Oh no! Hope it doesn't get too painful. It's dangerous stuff, this money-saving business...0
