Forgot my update in all the excitement. A small ebay sale and some money from MIL for my DH looking after her when she came out of hospital. I've taken off the interest that Mr Branson will nick out of my payment

    No.069 £4071/ £7719 = 52.73%

It would have been more paid off but I've been a bit spendy on my other Crap1 cc and wanted to get it get it back down to 0 again :o

    Hi Barbeduk,

Massive congratulations on achieving debtfreeness :T

You must be sooooo over the moon and chuffed to bits. It's great that you can come on here and shout it from the rooftops and know that everybody are really pleased for you.:j

I have a confession to make, I saw a post of yours on another thread that intimated that you were almost there so I figured you'd be next. I wish now I'd started a book on it :rotfl:;)

Its part of hidradenitis suppurativa. Its taken 8 years to get this far. Its not a greatly recognised condition. Previously when I was down I would have gone out and spent to cheer up.

Did have a good email but daren't count any chickens dead or alive. I'm hoping things are going to turn a corner soon! Just had a mass more drugs so feeling shattered. Payday next wednesday and looking to a doctors appointment next wednesday. Fingers crossed

Oh camuk81, just googled this and it sounds nasty, poor you :(
Are there any support groups for sufferers?

    Happy birthday for tomorrow Jakes-Mum.

Starnac, I'd love to do that :) I shall be in touch after I've settled, I have my own adjustable tailors dummy already.

Camuk, you can normally order samples from websites or have a gander in your local fabric shops. I noticed Hbbycraft have started to sell fabric and fat quarters the other day, I think these trends must be coming across from the US.

Well I went to the dentist, he got the sonic thing out to clean my teeth...much nicer than the horrid scraper thing he used last time although still painful :( I have to go back as he's going to make me a splint (£120) for my bruxism, and I will get a white filling (£110) which I don't necessarily need but I've had a hole between the tooth and gum for over a year now and I want it sorted before it costs me a root canal or worse. I've gone for the white as it doesn't contain mercury, I'm not bothered about the colour.

I must say though, before I started this challenge I'd never have money to be able to just say "ok do the work I'll pay you for it". I went there today confident that I could afford the £230 without having to count on my fingers and fret :) I know that all I will have to do is not have a few takeaways and it'll be all fine and dandy, I'll go without the "luxuries" so I can have the necessities :) and I won't even need to use credit!

Awesome BarbedUK - you must be chuffed to bits and I'm sure everyone else can't wait to join you!

Happy Friday guys, although there are some of us working tomorrow, I hope everyone has a great weekend. Although it's payday today I've not put anything towards the debt...still have around a third of my car bill from earlier in the month to pay first.

I've got a few months before I'm joining the register, particularly because the sharesave that was due to mature in July has dropped about £300 in value this week... hope it bounces back. A bit more hard graft is something I'm familiar with though.

All the best guys, and keep pushing towards that DFD!

Thats it starnac. I presume if you have a suit that fits then take it apart create a template, find the cloth and stitch back together.

PS any ideas on where to find a nice lightweight pinstripe fabric. Struggle finding good fabric stores

Heck might even make a shirt to start with

You can do it that way if you don't mind taking your suit apart. I make all my own patterns so I can get an exact fit to my shape. (no boobs, chunky thighs :o)

I'll have a think about fabric shops near you. I used to live in Gtr Manchester so I know a few up that end of the country.

Do you struggle finding suits or do you just want to have a go at making one?
