Rant away Loubie
can't believe they lied on the phone what a pain in the backside.
I think the reason why there are so many of us 20-somethings is because our parents kicked off the convenience generation, that's now been saturated to the point where we have obesity, mahoosive debts, and no time for anything anymore. Well I'd like to think we were coming out of it, I went to Mr S yesterday and there was a chiller aisle that had at least 5 shelves and was about 1.5m wide dedicated to microwave potato dishes! Potatos cost pennies yet these were almost £5 each! Who doesn't know how to make cheesy mash??? It only takes 20 minutes.
My manager has approved my expensesjust got to wait for them to land now....I wonder when that will be?! As soon as they do I shall be declaring another £50 off my total, I might even declare £100 off if I feel confident I won't have to spend much of it

I kind of agree with this - I think most of my friends have seen the stress that money troubles have caused in our parents. I personally decided to become debt free when my step-dad lost his job and my parents were struggling to pay regular bills (they gave up credit cards years ago). It made me realise how much I'd struggle because of the debt and I really want to be in a position where I have some emergency money.

Couldn't agree more Kerri, I can't believe how expensive and really unhealthy these meals are.......luckily my dad and current job have taught me how to make a few dishes!
For my lunch there is some potatoes, onion, carrot and lentils in the cupboard which I am going to whip up into a soup!In debt no more!0 -
Hi All,
I have had a very busy few weeks with work so not had a chance to keep up with the thread or posting. I am therefore just popping in to report my payments to the cc's before reading through the posts. Hope all are well!

I just got tired of burying my head in the sand and not being able to live my life. I'm desperate to just s0d off for a winter on unpaid leave and travel the world, but can't afford it and as I've always had debt, it's never been an option. It's such a good job I got sorted when I did, as our tax rules have since changed and I'm around £200 per month worse off.... not to mention being on SSP at the moment!
It was so hard seeing my sortofmum carry on spending (she freely admits teaching me bad financial lessons) until a few months ago she went on to an IVA as she just couldn't cope any more.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Mine was brought on by us wanting to buy a flat, I'd always been good and had paid off my overdraft and CC a couple of times but then I'd let them creep back up again, that really pushed me to sort it all out especially as I was still living with my parents then so figured this would be the best time yet.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000
Halifax CC - £1032.77 / £1032.77
Mortgage currently at [STRIKE]£82,299.71[/STRIKE] £76,017.62 would love to overpay0 -
Mine was health issues, forcing me to rethink my lifestyle, social circles, if I carried on the on the path I was on then I would have ended up miserable, skint and not doing the things I loved. Now I'm being all crafty with my sewing which I LOVE!, not wasting £50 a time on booze five days a week because that's "just what you do" in London, and I've realised the people I associate with don't really care if you're around or not as there's always someone else to go drinking with,
Oh and Mr Cameron telling us all to pay off our debts to get out of this terrible economy then back pedaling, he was right though to get debt free we all need to pay it back, sod the banks not making any interest from us I'd rather be stress free than lining their pockets with billion £££ bonuses.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Morning all!
Do £50 notes really exist? Thought they were a myth. Jemma, you thought I was crazy for walking miles on Sat! You ran for 5 mins+, I think you're crazy...or just supoer fit.
Lou, glad you enjoyed the weekend despite car hire hassles.
Just a quickie during my coffee break.Convinced DH to put some clothes on fleabay this weekend and one of my dresses currently stands at £21 and there's still 5 days to goPayday on Friday so need to look at June's finances as we're going away for a week but want to pay more than the minimum on the CC this month.
Oh, I'm a 30 something, wanting to be debt free before I hit 40 (next summer). Had many LBMs in the past, hoping my last LBM has a lifetime guarantee this time!
Have a good day xxx0 -
I have had really more than 3 LBMs but I'll call it my offical one as of August 2011 year. Was just really sick of robbing peter to pay paul!
I started my Payplan debt journey but was always missing payments and with a CCJ already I didn't want to risk anymore and I haven't missed a DMP payment for a year.
So plan of action is to keep on paying my £350 pcm and to save up more to see if they will accept F&F.
Oh and I was 29 and not wanting to be in Debt in my 30s like I was for ALL of my 20s!In debt no more!0
