OMG someone fan me  just had the CC bill drop through the letter box with the holiday cost on it and got off me bum and went down town and paid it . . all £190 of it, in CASH, without my usual 'oh fick where am I going to get the money from' panic and the 'should I BT it, pay minimum and begrudgingly the interest or not eat and pay it all'
The money was there   I could afford my own bill :rotfl:

Hello everyone - I am back after finishing my exams and revision - yay! It will take me too long to catch up with everyone's posts so I hope everyone's OK
and that I haven't missed any major gossip in my absence.
I haven't made any debt payments but also haven't been spending very much either as I've been in revising. My challenge now is to keep not spending now that Uni's finished until September.
DH is starting his new job on Monday so I'll have to rework all our budgets to allow for the fact he'll be earning less and costs (of travel) will go up. I'll also have to replan our debt payments, based on this - not looking forward to that but at least we now do have a plan!Pay debt in 2012 #278 £2347/£5364

his missus - I'm pretty sure you could sew it by hand as well. I've now learnt that to sew an accurate straight line I need to draw my lines onto the fabric and sew slowly with the machine. The lines now come out perfect everytime
However, if I wing it I always, always, always go wonky.
Fallen - thank you from all those that benefit from it for giving bloodyou've saved a few lives. Sorry they couldn't find a vein though.
Jemma - I think you've just sussed why I never gain weight, I've been wondering why I can eat, eat, eat and it must be because I'm consuming enough to keep my metabolism in check
I gave in last night and used my rainforest vouchers that I had been saving for a breadmaker to buy myself a physio rumble roller. It's a big foam roller with bobbley bits on that give you an effective deep tissue massage. It's cost me £60 in vouchers, but they were all free so I can't complain. I'm pretty sure it'll save in physio bills too, as I know as soon as I loosen up the muscles in my back then the neck pain will stop. The physio had suggested I get myself a foam roller, so I went for the one with the best reviews and that was the best value for money. I think if I went for one that was smooth then I'd not get as much of a benefit.....we shall see whether it's a mistake or not.
Oh and jemma - I saw yesterday that you can get some kindle of pedal contraption for about £30, where it looks like you pedal without sitting down.....maybe you could consider something like that for your exercise challenge?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Afternoon all - I hope you are well. Sorry I've been away, didn't have internet connection at the boy's parent's place in France. Will catch up on the posts when I get a sec.
I've had a mixed week really - managed to spend £75 less on the holiday than planned, but had to spend £250 just to apply for accommodation at Durham . A nuisance cos it has made this month really tight, and will reduce the amount I can pay back to debt at the end of the month .
I feel like I haven't stopped eating and drinking for a week, and I'm pretty sure I now weigh about a million lbs. Restarted myfitnesspal, with an aim of 1lb/wk and will be joining my mum at weight watchers when I move home (in 3 weeks, yikes). I reckon I have around 1 1/2 stone to be at a comfortable size, and will do this through a mixture of healthy eating and more exercise.
Finally, with the PGCE at Durham I have been warned by the uni that I could end up travelling to placement (3 days a week) up to 80 miles for 8.15 in the morning. It is quite a nuisance, but I really don't want to turn down the offer just because I don't have a car, especially when the bursary is enough to cover the cost (tho maybe they could be a bit more organised and pay some of the bursary a bit early to cover these things). However, I have a few options for actually buying one, and wanted your opinions:- Buy one now on credit card
- Wait until late August and buy one on credit card, to be paid off when uni starts and the bursary is paid (so zero interest)
- Don't get one at all and hope to get a placement near to college
I am thinking defo not buy one now, because then I'd have to pay to run it all summer, and I really don't need one at the moment. Hoping for a placement near the uni seems a bit risky cos Durham is pretty small so there aren't that many schools nearby.
So I'm inclined to get one at the end of August? It is my birthday then so I could ask mum / dad / the boy to pay towards the insurance for me as my birthday present. Seems a bit early to be thinking of it, but I was also considering setting myself a mini target that as soon as I reach it I can get the car - thus giving me an incentive to make lots more debt payments. I'd wait, Durham is a pain for parking in the city centre and there are buses available if the timing and school is right. We did manage to buy a car in a weekend in Durham so one quickly can be done. When you find out which college you'll be living in find out what their policy is for PGCE students.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Well, I have had a very exciting conversation with a nice lady from my mortgage company. We have a mahoooosive interest only mortgage :eek: (why are you not surprised!) but I can set up a standing order to make monthly capital repayments. Got my next challenge!!! Thanks, I was just in a bit of a panic cos I can't afford a car and don't need one right now but the lady from the uni said you could end up taking 2+ hrs to get to a placement if you don't have a car, and that they prioritise parking on campus accommodation for PGCE students for that reason. I don't know anything about cars tho, so if I don't get one before I go I'm waiting on my family to be able to find one for me. I think I might just need a cup of tea and focus on other things for a bit.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner

Worst donation yet, guy couldn't get needle in, horrendous pain. didn't manage to give enough and I'm going to have a giant bruise
I can't even say the pain is worth it as what I did give will be scrapped
Lovely nurse at work gave me an icepack, stopped the pain and will hopefully stop the bruise getting too bad

I'm a bit confused
I've taken what I've paid off away from my total debt (on my signature) and compared it to what I actually owe to cc and loan and they're £124 different. I actually owe £124 less or have paid off £124 that I haven't declared. What should I do peeps?
