Aww Camuk big dodgy looking hug for you :grouphug:
I feel bad telling you all my good news now as its a bit like rubbing salt in the wound, Had a letter finally from DLA saying they have relooked at my claim and changed their mind and awarded me mid rate care :j plus have extended their renewal date to dec 2016 . So am now looking good for actually being DF by Xmas (I really wasnt sure id get there
) I also think they might backdate the money to dec 2011  though DH has already started to ask about changing his bike . . . part of me wants to say 'no! my debt money, my debt money ' the other part knows that hes suffering alot with his legs and his current bike is really exacerbating the problem and to not change it may be the difference between him being able to work and possibly getting so bad he gets signed off
Well done on the DLA news!!! :T0 -

I've had a lovely couple of days but knackered now... went to the Harry Potter studio tour on Wednesday. We left super early to make sure we didn't get stuck in traffic so we were the first ones through the gate and in the car park... oops! Was really good though, expensive but very interestingwent out for a chinese dinner with friends that evening. We were going to go to cadbury world yesterday but when we woke up at silly o'clock we saw weather warnings etc so didn't want to risk driving all that way and not being able to get back, so ended up going to Westfield for lunch and out to a local burgers n ribs type place for dinner last night with Mr S and a friend and her husband. I was thoroughly spoilt and loved all my presents
Had an interview today in the big smoke for a front-of-house corporate job, not sure how it went so just have to wait and see. Getting nervous at the idea of actually going ahead and quitting old job now, but I know it makes sense in more ways than one and it would be nice to have weekends free to plan.
Going to Grimsby tomorrow for the weekend as it's a friends babys christening... hoping the weather improves as I want chips by the sea!
Now home and having to catch up on washing, washing up, tidying etc as we haven't had anytime to do any of it for days!
Fingers crossed for a good result from the interview!! Hope it's good news0 -
Hello all. I just posted an update on my Diary , please have a read. Thanks for the support after my earlier post.
Weirdly, from not wanting to check my bank balance for months at a time, I now am getting obsessed with looking at it and trying to will those numbers down!
Also, one of my debts is of course my O/D. How do people calculate how they are doing with this, as it is always fluctuating? Do you just take the figure at the end of the month??
Many thanks

Well an update from me. I left my job:eek: as I couldn't stand it there any more and feel sooo much better, but very very broke!!
I have updated my little ebay shop this week and have been looking at stock and other ideas for it. I have just made the DMP payments so I will update my sig in a few days. I wont be debt free this Christmas but will be by Xmas 2013 :j Sooo nice to see the end in sight after 8 long years.
Well the weather is carp but very MSE as we won't need to buy any summer clothes or shoes will we :rotfl:
Have a great bank holiday weekend!

Wow, you guys are doing really well!!!
Not doing toooooo bad on the eating front but I hate these arguments I have with myself when I just HAVE to have a bar of chocolate or HAVE to have a pint of lager... One minute I'm imagining myself really thin and have a smile on myself and then suddenly I get a craving for something and HAVE to have it. It's so unfair cos if I eat it then I feel guilty and stupid and most of the time it doesn't taste that good when I'm eating it BUT if I don't give in then all I can think about is eating it and it drives me nuts!!!
Anyway, in penance for a having 2 jacket potatoes for my tea then I've just been out for a FAST walk for an hour. I WILL beat this weight...!
On a debtbusting note then what I am proud of is that I've not had a takeaway since my food poisoning 2 weeks ago which is a MASSIVE achievement for me. I must have saved loads of money!
Going to have a mass catch up tomorrow as you've been very chatty!!! Hope you're all doing really well xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Hi BNS
I ended up having to open a current account with no overdraft facility in order to see my £1350 (yes, that's right!) overdraft as a debt and start paying it off. I can't trust myself with an overdraft on my daily current account so no longer use one at all, even for a buffer.

I saved up the money in a seperate account to pay off my £2000 Student overdraft and paid it and some extra in one go so it went into credit and then mentally it's wiped the overdraft out in my mind, I still have it just in case as I do with my credit cards but I've not used my OD since.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000
