Right, spent an hour in the bedroom, 1 binbag of rubbish, sorted boxes under bed, cleared floor(most in binbag), sorted one lot of shelf boxes(9 little ones). Stopped to sort some washing. Now going to have tea and then back to it. Decided not to throw too many toys as we are splitting girls one big bedroom into 2. Once this is finished will really have a go at the toys. DOn't want to get rid of lots then find one of dd's haven't got much to play with.
Anyway, going for tea as v hungry.
Nice one pigpen, you give me hope I will finish.
Charlies_mum know what you mean about the kitchen, it does make you feel good.Need to sort my life out! :T0 -
Taffy.. ours is no where near finished.. we have been throwing stuff out like his for the last 6 or 7 years and it is never ending.
hubby actually just asked if I think the house will ever be finished.. I said no.. the jobs we did frst ae coming up to needing to be done again.. decorating etc.. it is a nighmare.. hopefully though this time next year we will have a loft conversion and 3 more rooms decorated... I can only hope!!
I might just go up and rummage about a it see if I can fill this third binbag!
Mine have been off for half term this week which is why I managed to get DD1's room almost done.. she has a box left on the landing which she can't find room for so I shall be dealing with that on Monday.
I already have in my head what each room will be like.. though I can't decid whether to do our room aqua OR gold.. I'm sure I'll have decided before I need to buy the paint.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
pigpen have you seen the Shabby Chic thread ? Plenty of decorating inspiration there if you like that style.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Well I've just been clearing out another box this evening. Have the mother in law staying with us and she was ill earlier so I was keeping quiet (I can't do any decorating while she is here) and I was watching a film but she decided she was coming downstairs and preceded to hijack the telly (mid-film) and the sofa in a Coup d'!tat so I came up here instead.

You sound so much like my OH when my mother has stayed :rotfl: . Touch of the Jim Royle about the two of you.

Evening all!
Well, only managed to do the fishtank so far this afternoon, gave the bathroom a quick wipe over, did a load of laundry and managed to get the dishes done (I am determined not to let the basic jobs slide while all this decluttering chaos ensues!) but I have decided to give myself an hour of decluttering with a bin bag to see if I can fill it then watch a movie and chill out for the rest of the evening.
Im on target to complete phase two of the mass 2008 declutter tomorrow though and then can start phase three on monday evening. Fortunately this phase should be reasonably easy to do given that it means sitting on my butt a lot with a bin at one side of me and a scanner working overtime on the other.
So - jobs left to complete tomorrow:
* Hoover entire house and shampoo bedroom carpet
* Empty all bins
* Find homes for all the 'stuff' still out
* Do the goddam ironing!
* Tackle filthy blinds which ive been looking at with disgust for about 3 months!
* general clean up (dishes, dusting, cat litter trays etc)
Ill get there eventually!

Finished the box now and bored with playing music. I would get drunk but I'm out of alcohol and I've driving the M-I-L back home tomorrow anyway. Only another 16 hours and 21 minutes before we set off (unless we are running late)! I'll be ready to go by 9am.
I'm on my own at work Monday too as all but one of my staff are in London on training so I need to get some 'me' time too without having to run around like a porter/butler all day tomorrow as well. When I lived at home it was my Dads house rules. Whats gone wrong?!
You're OH sounds alright to me Olliebeak! :rotfl:Gordon Brown ate my hamster0
