Enough is enough - the great declutter

Not done very much today.
Posted 2 ebay things and one collected by buyer. VG
BUT contents of airing cupboard stll all over the landing from gas man's visit yesterday - don't like faffing about outside the bedrooms when the kids are going to sleep and by the time they are I'm too tired and can't be bothered. VB
Have finished all the ironing VG
Haven't put it away VB
Got a full box of stuff to put on ebay but it's been crashing on me the last couple of days so I'm going to leave it just now as I have far too much work to do on my essay and can't just sit in front of a blank screen waiting for things to load.
Still, when I do go thru the airing cupboard I'll see what I can chuck - any old duvets sheets etc and half used pots of paint (surely not the best place to keep them anyway - wasn't me)
Happy chucking out everyone!Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
Well, I've been reading everyone's decluttering efforts with envy as I've done none of what I've planned. Haven't listed aything on ebay, haven't sorted any of the places where junk accumulates, haven't packed a single thing for my imminent move. Oh well. Am blaming it on pre-move limbo, plus the fact I'm living with my ex bf still so am worried sorting stuff will involved raking up old memories. Got a v long list of stuff to decide whether chuck or sell when move though and some ideas. Good luck with the rest of your decluttering everyone - I'm looking for your tips!

Onredbull i would recommend one of those box things you fill with water and stick your td hose in.
It's one of the best things i ever bought. It stops the dust.QUOTE]
Hiya
 I think i have got one of those - Got a box down from on top of kitchen cupboards as it has been there since.......... ........i dont know when (at least 2 yrs as it was delivered to parent old address - maybe 3 years)
And opened it to find ...............
"A CONDENSER FOR TUMBLE DRYERS"& :undecided
After talking to friends, reading some threads and reading the instuctions, which all say to put the elements in the freezer - I know this is the way to be done and has to be done but i just dont understand. Maybe im thinking too much.
Nothing can make it be any worse than what the dryer hose it like now so i will make it my aim tomorrow to set it up and try it out.
Can any1 offer some words of wisdom for putting the element & water in freezer - shall i do it over night ready for morning ?
Thanks.
P.S. = My 4 Boxes
Ebay Big Box = Full & Over Flowing on side.
Throw Away = Empty as bin men collected today.
Put Away Box = I have several (about 10) Piles & Baskets scattered around that need putting away :wall:
Give Away = Empty - Got Unit & Maybe DS Desk that should ring and donate to free cycle.~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0 -
The theory is that the hot damp air goes into the cold box and the water then condenses on the freezer blocks so you can pour it away when it's finished.
I can do science me!Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
Thank You - I have thanked you for your reply and agree with the theory - its just ...
Well ..
I put these into the freezer - deep freeze it says - so i asume over night - and then use it and it all works.
Then i have to wash it and put it in freezer again and repeat over and over.
Seems like a lot of work when i have so much other stuff to do.
Am i right in thinking this has to be put in the freezer each time i want to use tumble dryer ?~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0 -

Well after my pathetic post on Monday
my spare room is looking not too bad. Just two areas left to do and filing all my paperwork, so hopefully it will be done by the end of the week. Its turned into a saga at my husbands work every morning they want the next installment of the great de-clutter.
Happy de-cluttering everyone :T0 -
Onredbull i'm not sure about the ones that go i the freezer. I had one that you just filled with water.
I'm sure someone must know though.
My aims for today are to keep washing ad sorting the baby clothes then list them to sell.
Hopefully i'll also be able to gloss the woodwork today.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Why is it that since I first saw this thread and got all excited about my decluttering, and even managed to root out some stuff for Ebay and half register with PayPal, I haven't had time to do anything else?!!!
Hopefully this afternoon / evening I'll have a bit of time as I can't do anything between now and half three... Grrrr. I shouldn't even be on here now!
My 2 goals are:
1) collect all the little piles of loose change I keep spotting around the house and put them in our money box.
2) iron the two bridesmaids dresses I want to sell on ebay, take stunning photos(!) and work out how to actually sell them (Ebay first timer!)
Hoping for success!0 -
Okay... I managed my teenie weenie to do list (not hard really!) and tonight's list is.....
Hoover DS's room as my FIL is coming to stay tomorrow. Scrub the landing hard flooring as there's plaster EVERYWHERE from the bathroom that's currently being redone.
Then...... sort through the bags of toiletries that came out of the bathroom. I have to be ruthless... how many times will I 'save' something that I think I'll use and sind it still around, unopened a year later...??????April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
