I've done a little de-cluttering over the last few days. Put some stuff into charity bags. Found really nice shirt (not popular enough make for ebay), but too small for me. So decided to give it to my friend. She's always liked it and I got dinner (HM) as a thank you. Have friday off so will be attacking it properly then. Have 2 rooms full of clutter (boxes etc) and I really need to sort it out.

I sorted the shoe cupboard last week and I've got three pairs to go out for recycling. They're hidden in the shed at the moment and I've got to try to remember them tomorrow morning - after my husband has gone to work but before the recycling lorry comes round! If he sees them he will try to rescue them and they're not fit for a tramp:D

I've also gone round this morning and gathered up various catalogues etc. which I've finished with and they've gone out for recycling.

I am jealous, I love decluttering - so I don't have any :( My house is still a mess though!

I am always asking my mum if I can declutter her house but she is scared I will chuck all her stuff away.

    Hi everyone :hello:

Glad to see i'm not the only one facing the battle with clutter

I started to de-clutter our spare room, we are trying to do an hour a evening on it, but its looks worse than before we started and we've cleared 7 black bags of stuff out of there. Stuff has over spilled into our room so now that looks a mess too. I'm to the point now where I can't face it, as there is still stuff with no where to put it and so I've avoided going in there for the last few days. It's really getting me down so i've said to OH we will do a bit tonight, but now dreading it as its the cuboard next

I just need to get with it so its over and done with rather than dragging it out.

Try to look on it as an adventure, I'm uncovering things I didn't know we had, and you never know, you might find that Ming vase that's worth thousands :rotfl:

    Can i join in too.

I've kind of been doing this any way the last couple of days.

I've attacked the huge pile of stuff that i need to sell.

I've listed some books on amazon
put a few ads in ad trader
    and some on ebay

and i've taken 2 bags of stuff to the charity shop.

So not a bad day all in all.

    Hi Foks

I would like to join in as well. My house is fit to burst and I don't know where to start. I usually ignore it all as I work full time and I am totally knackered by the time I get home. I live on my own so I have no one to nag me [believe me I really need this :o ]. I have been off work ill for the past 4 weeks and have realised how much it has got out of hand. I am always full of good intentions, making copious lists and plans but I never actually do anything.

    Help

I know exactly what you mean zippy, i spent the week end sorting out shoe boxes ect filled with baby stuff, photos, papers ect
And although i have done a bit, it feels like i have done nothing.

I threw out 2 x carrier bags of my sons drawings and kept 1 full carrier bag of his art pictures/drawings. (He is only just 4)

I condensed 3 (started but never finished) baby books that were started 4 years ago.

Sorted and condensed baby stuff to 2 shoe boxes instead of 6 shoe boxes.

Stared on my 2 shoe boxes of photos i have saved and have thrown out half of them as i dont know who or what the photos are of.

Shredded all negatives as dont think they are worth keeping.

 So although i have done some sorting out and condensing Thrown out about 1 and half bin bags of rubbish - nothing looks any different and rooms still look cluttered.

I know - it takes time !

lets hope we are all here in a months time to celebrate and have big _party_parties as we will all have lots of room and space !!!! Well maybe ?!!!

I know exactly what you mean, I lost my Dad last year, and Mum 4 years before, and have inherited lots of old photos, and I don't recognise anyone, so why can't I throw them away
