There is a charge for scheduling unless you have selling manager pro (i think it's that one). If you use photobucket-free, there is a way of putting extra photos on your listings without charge. It isn't just a case of sticking all the photos in the boxes that come up when you list.iyswim (or you will be charged for the photos). I haven't tried auctiva.

Seemed to spend the day ironing and photographing clothes etc ready for ebaying on thursday!I did start chucking out some old mugs (but have bought replacements so i guess it doesn'tcount as decluttering!) Will try to do some sorting out tomorrow might start with all our paperwork am sure we don't need half of it!

Thanks again for the help re: listing tools. I have prepared 80 listings in turbolister and I'm all ready to go! I would never have been able to do so many just using the ordinary website, I think 20 was about my limit before!

At the present time, scheduling and extra photos aren't important to me but it's good to know they are available free if I have a need in future :)

Do either turbolister or auctiva have a way of showing your fee breakdown/summary before you upload? Haven't found anything about fees in turbolister although it seems to work quite seamlessly with ebay in other ways.

Tattycath - if I have just used the first photo "box" in turbolister, can I assume this is the free photo and I won't be charged for this one? (Sorry to ask silly newbie questions, but I'd hate to upload them and then find I've been charged for all of them!)

Dobs - I don't envy you at all, I have just one suit that's going up for sale clothes-wise, and it was a right pain to photograph properly! Good luck with your stuff.

I think the worst bit was preparing all the boxes and packaging, weighing it and working out postage charges. Don't want to overcharge on postage, but don't want to undercharge and eat into my profits either! I've used mostly guesswork in the past, but I was determined to get it right this time.

Best of luck to everyone else who's listing their stuff too! :D

On turbolister. Above your listing s in the get ready to upload file, there are 3 boxes. ! says schedule, 1 says calculate fees and 1 says upload/upload all. Click on the calculate fees and it will tell you the price to list all the items. It will not tell you the final value fees in this and it won't tell you the paypal fees either. Go to site map in ebay to find final value fees -or wait until the item has sold and the amount will show in your seller account. Yes the first photobox is the free one. All the others are charged for. If you want any more info re. adding extra photos free If you pm me I will try to explain-failing that (if and when he gets time) i'll try to get my OH to explain-he's an absolute whizz!!

I have decided after reading all these threads that I am going to sell a load of things I no longer require on Ebay and use the proceeds to pay off my credit card :)

I have tonnes of scrapbooking and craft things which I collected and spent loads of money on, I just do not have the time to do it anymore.

I have books, books and more books! and magazines :) these will be going to the doctors surgery on Saturday!

Then I will start on the clothing lol

    Thank you for such inspiration.

Thanks Tattycath, I really appreciate your help. The listing fees were all I was bothered about really to make sure I hadn't made any silly errors. I hadn't moved anything into the upload area yet which was why I hadn't spotted that button!

I'm about to go and have a last look around the house and make sure there's nothing more I want to include with this batch of listings! :D

Hi triage999, keep us posted with how you get on, what are you going to tackle first?
  • Hi

I've been a visitor to this site for quite a while but have never took the plunge and posted before.

My house is groaning under he weight of my clutter, my bank balance is depressing and I need to save up quite a bit of cash in order to enhance my career prospects and gain a teaching qualification.

So... here goes, I'm on a mission to de-clutter, earn enough from ebay / similar to pay for my courses and get rid of my debts.

here's hoping that 2008 will be the year!!!

Well the auctions went up fine last night apart from one little glitch, which was my fault for duplicating item listings and forgetting to change something in the item specifics - easily rectified though! Turbolister really did take the strain out of it this time around.

Hopefully some of it will sell and if not I'll re-list the leftovers next month with any more stuff I've gathered. Does that sound sensible? I usually re-list once and if it doesn't go the second time, I give it away.

Looking forward to doing some "non ebay" clearing out next... not sure what yet! What is everyone else up to?

sorry to but in, i keep reading this thread trying to inpire myself to declutter and believe me i need serious help in this dept. Kaz do i gather from this comment that you are a nurse? i keep a pencil case in my work bag and before I leave work (or as walking to car park) empty my pockets and put these items in my pencil case, otherwise I would never be able to find them either!!

I most certainly am! That's a good idea about the pencil case. DD has a couple so I could [STRIKE]steal[/STRIKE] borrow one of hers. She probably won't even notice!
I've managed to get rid of some more stuff and have to go and get DS from preschool in a minute so will go to the tip from there and unload more rubbish and clothing. It's good because they have got a clothes recycling thing there so I can get rid of it all at once. TTFN, good luck with clearing!
