Well - I'm still doing my incremental decluttering - a few bits per day most days - its all going to add up gradually. The thought I run through my mind is that if there was nothing at all in my house then I could do the housework/springclean the lot in less than a day - so I try to bear that in mind when it comes to whether to keep things or no. I still have absolutely loads of stuff - but that thought helps if I am a bit undecided as to whether to keep stuff.
I think the "rot may have set in" not that long after buying my house (quite a few years ago now) when a friend of mine came into my house and commented that "it feels like a church" - bang, instant cue to start filling it up with stuff to try and make it feel more "homely" - think that was a bit of a mistake in hindsight!0 -
I have been decluttering, but was having problems getting rid of the stuff, the local charity shops aren't accepting stuff & I was getting no response from Freecycle, so I resubmitted the stuff on Freecyle as '2 boxes of stuff for carboot' & I've had a lot of replys, so hopefully this time the stuff will go.

Thats what I like - a bit of "lateral thinking" to echo another favourite phrase of mine. Where theres a will theres a way.0 -

Did shred a load of photos of hubbies family (that felt good lol and yes i did have his permission - theyare no longer in contact with us) and of our dog (we have about 200 of him!) so i guess that was the only sorting out i did today.grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000

Hi. I sorted by cds yesterday as I posted earlier in the thread. We did find some 'rogue' cds not sure where from, anyway as we didn't feel we could sell/give them away and I hate just throwing things away-old habits die hard- I decided it would be a great idea for the girls to paint on them with their glass paints. Eldest DD made a start tonight and says she is going to create a light catcher. So if you're stuck for ideas...
