well [STRIKE]all[/STRIKE] some of the rooms are messy cos they are untidy and/or they are in desperate need of re-decoration but I was just thinking of how much is left in the rooms that I know I need to get rid-of.
In the last couple of minutes it has just dawned on me why the paperwork has got so bad. Very little of it needs filing for future reference, but things like catalogues and certificates have all ended up in 'the paperwork pile'.
Just removed a load of stuff-that needs a home, and thre is little left to file. Someone mentioned take-away menus earlier. What I do is put them in a poly-pocket and leave them in a drawer by the phone in our hall-way so we know where they are when we fancy ordering out.
About to break off for my lunch- catch up with you all later.

IN - nothing
OUT- Lawnmower to freecycler, printer cartridges to school for charity, sorted tupperware boxes so ditched odds and sods into recycling plastic bins, returned some borrowed items to original owners and they were cleaned and oiled!!, several spare kitchen stuff to neice who was grateful.
I am well pleased with my efforts0 -
In: - One very battered old VW Beetle for my husband to restore (hmm, am thinking this does not fall under the umbrella of either de-cluttering or money-saving!:o )
One pair of lovely thick curtains to stop the draughts coming in the front and back doors (obtained from a lovely Freecycler!)
Out: Nothing - must really try harder!0 -
WartimeScrapingofMarmite - What a great user name!!
Everybody else - sorry for OT post!0 -
I've sorted paperwork out and put about half away- need to find homes for the other half.
I bought a art box (looks like a fishing tackle box) for kids it replaces the similar one we have that is broken and I found myself getting all excited cos it was straight swap one in one out- sad or what.:o
I am so close to the finish line, but it will still take a while. If I could get hubby to take week off work to help, whilst sending kids to boarding school I'd be done-lol.0 -
I managed to sell a bottle of limited edition Lush body lotion on the Lush forum for £7 inc. postage. I don't know what it was worth but I was happy with that as it was just sitting in the bedroom being unused and was out of date anyway. As they don't make it anymore it's best before date didn't matter to the buyer, she said as long as it still smelt okay she'd love it!
so....
OUT: a bottle of body lotion
IN: £7 into my paypal account!
I'm pretty pleased cos I have sold some perfume on eBay too, that I wasn't using so now have £30 in my Paypal account to buy things I actually want, with no guilty feelings cos it is money that was already spent, just sitting there as unused products! :jI'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!0 -
