Yeah after my earlier whinge inspiration struck and now I have a tidier kitchen with recycling in bin where it should be, rhubard ready for the freezer, runner beans blanced and in the freezer.

Out - pile of xbox magazines to a fellow freecycler

Nearly out - old carpet and underlay and pile of wood :j

well I did do all the washing up and wiped the surfaces down. Will put the washing up away when I get up :rotfl: Not even gone to bed yet and it is just gone 3am.

Sorted out a drawer and the cupboard under the sink. Threw another bin liner of rubbish out. My bin is now groaning under the weight. I hope they do pick it up on friday as I have no more room.

Will have to take the rubbish to work and throw in there bin :rotfl:

And did a load of washing that is the on the rack to dry. Kitchen not finished but looking better. And I also bleached the washing up sponge and dish brush. And put bleach down the plug hole.

    Yours

I sold the first thing for ages on eBay.... 23 little perfume oils that I didn't like but were just sitting on my dressing table. I put them up for £7 as a job lot and they eventually went to a girl in Oz for £22.
They were put in the post yesterday so that's something else gone from the house.

The lady who wanted a Reebok Step on Freecycle never got back to me. I find that so rude. Why put up a "wanted" ad only to be offered one and not even let the person know you no longer need it? I emailed her again to say if she could just let me know if she still needs one, otherwise I will post it as "offered" on Freecycle, and still no reply!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Had a great time on Monday ripping out the rest of the tongue and groove from the utility room.

Out: four sacks of tongue n groove and a very temperamental fridge freezer that defrosted food on a regular basis :-(
In: One shiny flash new fridge freezer for the utility room.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Out: 4 freecycle items and 3 bin bags
    In: nothing!

I'm really enjoying this declutter and it is so helping me keep on top of things but I need to take it a step further - any ideas on how to be ruthless and less sentimental?

I don't need some super-organised wonderwoman telling me I have to put my shoes and make up on....I *never* wear make up and shoes are for *outside* the house only :rotfl:
I SOOOO agree. I never wear shoes indoors, and indeed, very often don't outdoors. Well, when you get around either in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter, they're only really needed in cold weather, and at least it means I don't spend £££'s in shoe shops!:rotfl:

4 folders, 30 pens, 10 rulers and a few other bits of stationery out via freecycle on Monday - was surprised so many people wanted it!

3 of my little teddy bear ornaments out today sold through work.

I have a week off in September and was going to go away but now we're not so I'm going to spend the week having a total blitz - if I say it enough it might actually happen ;)

I've just sorted out my food cupboards. I found we had a full bag of rice in the back of one cupboard. We bought a bag last week cos we didn't think we had any, now we have two bags! I also found things dated BBE Nov 2005. It was so nice chucking things away that I knew we would never use but hadn't thrown before because they were still in date. Well today I threw out loads of things with a clear conscience, of sorts. I know it isn't very MSE to throw food away but it is de-cluttering my cupboards and my mind and that is making me happier. Less things hanging around unused is less things to worry about!

I'm thinking of being very ruthless with my toiletries now. I want to stick to brands I love and chuck out the rest. This means all my toiletries will be from natural companies by post such as Liz Earle, Moogoo and Possets. In fact I think that'll be it, just three companies and not a big comercial, run-of-the-mill money making giant in sight!
Can I be that ruthless? I hope so!

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
