exactly!!! .. And how upset would the boys be if you said sorry guys you can't have the money because I gave all your stuff away..

    Positive thinking..

Can it be restacked somewhere less 'in the way'?? Just until you are all well again and can manage the car boot.

Do you have a friend or family member who could watch the children while you do a car boot with another friend ??? I absolutely would NOT do a CB on your own.. some people get really aggressive and pushy and of course there are the thieves sadly.

You'll get there.. focus on getting yourself and your family well first.. their health is of utmost importance!... I'd possibly be asking the LL to wait and delay his visit because hubby is ill and you wouldn't want him to catch anything ;) (and if you do.. don't tell him!!)

It's been restacked and resorted so many times, lol - I don't think there's any way to make it any less conspicuous. Unfortunately the garage and loft are full too, so this is it.

I couldn't do a CB on my own - hubby is the driver. Unfortunately, his main problem isn't going to get better, so they're off the agenda for the foreseeable. There's no-one else around who could help out either with the kids or the driving.

Unfortunately I already have delayed the landlords agents - they were supposed to have come Tuesday last. They weren't too happy about delaying - got some spiel about them having a duty to the landlord. I'd have some sympathy if they weren't doing this inspection three months late because of their own failings - but that's another story, lol. Needless to say, if they have a pop when they're here, I shall set the record straight with them and the landlord. At this rate, we'll be moving into adapted housing within the year anyway - unless the LL is willing to let Social Services rip the guts out of this place (which I doubt).

Anyway - I'm going to have a delve through the boxes and pick out the good stuff to stick in the free ads for next Thursdays paper (I can submit them online any time until Monday), and there's a lady on the Tuesday market who sometimes buys toys and kids clothes, so I'll fill a couple of bags for her too - won't be as good as selling myself, but better than nothing.

We'll get there eventually - it just seems to have been one hell of a slog this year and we're not coping brilliantly - how's the saying go 'Infamy, infamy ... :D

essexgal - I have been considering the possibility of a yard sale - we're on one of the main roads into town, so plenty of passers by. Not sure if the landlord would go for it though (very conscious of how things look), and there's the added issue of not being able to have the kids out with me (no gates, and youngest is a mini Houdini) so they'd be going mad indoors (and driving hubby potty) watching me outside having all the 'fun' (the elder two like doing CBs - they're better salesmen than me, lol.

I shall have to keep thinking on that

Well, there may be a little light at the end of the tunnel. In eldest's bookbag last night was a request for fete donations. They take in one type of item a day for a week - today it was soft toys, so that's one box empty (was never going to make a fortune out of that one anyway).

I'll have a dig through the rest over the weekend and see what I can't send that way over the course of next week - can shift some books and videos at least, and some of the lesser valued toys. Only problem is, last year when I did that, my parents took the boys round, and half of what they bought, we'd sent (argh!). Will have to make the instructions clearer this year, lol.
