More bids and lots of questions about the items - that's promising. The strobe has gone up to £57 now with 5 days left!

I managed to find a home for a stick blender through freecycle - they collect this pm. I have readvertised some non-stick pans on freecycle.

Its very frustrating being at OH's decluttered home, when I have so much to do at my house, plus I can't return this weekend due to my MBA presentation ceremony which is closer to OH's house.

I have even put all his CDs on iTunes now, and taken them to my house!

I might rummage through OH's garage and see what else there is to be rid of. I also bought a load of unpacked boxes back with me from my house to refill from OH's house. Am also trying to convince OH to sell his mobile phone box!

Pigpen - not tempted to ebay all the goodies? I have a 3ft high pile of records that I don't know what to do with. Some are ancient and few are unscratched unfortunately.
Gers - you must have an empty room now!

I'm off soon to the post office with my ebay parcels....

If only.... there is more clutter on the shelves, all stuff which I need to look at again before chucking out! A new set of drawers is being delivered on Saturday along with a new bedside thingies - more space than the ones given away. It's a rising tide of 'stuff' and my ruthless streak is coming to the fore.

When you start decluttering it always looks worse for a while as you sort stuff out. Hang in there and it WILL get better eventually - honest !

My OH thought I was mad when I said I quite liked keeping the toaster in the cupboard, but is this decluttering gone mad???

"Even making a cup of tea isn't a simple matter: "I know I am a Minimalist freak," says Tanji. She opens a cupboard, gets out the kettle, fills it, plugs it in, makes the tea, then empties it, unplugs it and puts it back in the cupboard. For there must be no clutter."

    Hi all,

I was just about to send off one of the ebay parcels, when I double checked the address info for the buyer through ebay. He has removed himself from ebay!

The payment was made through paypal immediately, but he is no longer listed on ebay.

Anyone had this before? Should I be concerned? Bit miffed he won't be able to give me feedback to be honest.

I hope you don't mind a lurker crashing this thread. I find you all help immensely with my motivation.

After some annoyance with Freecycle last week, one showed interest and then didn't reply to my pick up details and the other stood us up, I've had another go trying to offload some computer parts, 4 (!) monitors and a couple of printers. I have someone now who is promising to pick up tomorrow so fingers crossed!

I also offered some manky old TVs but noone has shown any interest. I think they work so it's a shame that the best idea I have is to take them to the tip. We don't drive so that's going to be a task and a half.

I tidied the utility room yesterday and squeezed out about half a bag of rubbish and finally got some organisation sorted for clean tea towels and washing liquids & powders. Much better!

Tesco delivered what looked like an near entire shop of value products yesterday and with a bit of strategic puzzle-like thinking I've got it all in the fridge (after a clean out), freezer and cupboards :D I have no doors on my kitchen cupboards so I'm always tidying them anyway.

I'm reading posts inbetween sorting out this front room today. I've managed a good half a bag of rubbish and lots of paper recycling but I'm betting on having a full rubbish bag by the end of the day.

I live on a fairly main road and in the past, I have just left things like TVs outside with a note saying that it is working and to help yourself!

Angela - I've not had that but I'd just send out the parcel in the normal way with proof of posting (or recorded, or special...) I'm sure you've got lots of excellent feedback and one won't really matter. I have seen this kind of thing mentioned on the ebay forum before.

Hi Mogkat and welcome, well done on all your progress! Maybe try leaving your stuff out the front on a dry day with a note saying for people to help themselves? If that doesn't work try putting a note saying they are £50 then they're bound to get nicked :rotfl: Or try ebaying them collection only for 1p buy it now? If they are usable then there is a home for them somewhere out there :)

Oh look Angela's just made the same suggestion :p:D

I have considered that but I live in a "straight onto the pavement" terrace and our local council gets sniffy about us leaving the bins out too long after collection so I'm not sure if I'd get an official telling off for it. I'm seriously tempted though. I thought of putting a notice in my own front window. Does anyone think anyone else would pay attention to it? They're terribly old TVs with no SCART sockets or remote controls.

ETA: More useful suggestions from you as well missyg :) I've not sold anything on eBay yet. It all looks too complicated even for a techie like me!
