We took 4 binbags of books from the attic to our local hospice book shop. They were really grateful for them, made us feel warm inside. The shop is like an old fashioned book shop complete with leather sofas.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I managed to get rid of a load of OH's old kitchen stuff, plus a couple of sets of old cheap glasses that I bought years ago when I lived in my rented flat and a huge punchbowl, complete with cups and ladle that we simply had never (and were never) going to use!

I have migrated to pimms now and we have plenty of jugs for that!!!:D

The punchbowl and glasses have freed up a whole shelf in the storage cupboard in the kitchen, so I can consider what decent stuff out of OH's kitchenwares I can put in there. Still about 7 other shelves to review though....

All went to the charity shop who were also chuffed with it - in fact, the lady said she would get the punchbowl straight out on the shelf!!!

Have got a few watchers on my stuff on ebay.

I have a stick liquidiser, complete with a whisk attachment on freecycle to get rid of.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Hi not been here for a while after my first post, i think i wore myself out in my frenzy of flinging.

The house clearout has ground to a halt but we cleared out the shed yesterday so we can now get the kids bikes in there off the patio. We just need the money for a skip now as all the rubbish is lingering at the side of the out.

We found an old side table at the back of the shed which would look lovely painted up. I've been lurking on the shabby-chic thread so i may give that a go when i get time.

I'm going to sort out my mountain of paperwork that's lingerring around the PC today i bet half of it is for the shredder.

    Bye...x.

Well it was back to work yesterday for OH and me so nothing got done at home but on the positive side nothing got brought in either :D.
We got the new floor laid in the kitchen on Friday so that room is well on its way to being completed and much less cluttered :j. We had to buy some floor levelling compound to prepare the floor and had over half a bag left which we promptly freecycled and got out of the house (pre de-cluttering we would have put it in the shed 'just in case' and then it would have stayed there for ages, gone off and been wasted...). It seems we are getting into the mind-set of ousting stuff instead of hoarding :j:j. Still some way to go though.

I still have no bids on any of the items that went up on Thursday :p

Looks like my ebaying might have come to a screeching halt - knew I'd run out of saleable things eventually!

Well, the boys have spent the morning in the toy-mess, and they've done really well. Whilst nothing is properly 'homed' yet, we can at least see the carpet now :j

Still a way to go until truly tidy, but eldest's new bed is being delivered in a week, and the first potential carboot is next weekend - so no more excuses for putting it off.

Hopefully, there will be 'after' pictures within days :D

pigpen - you did really well with that lot .............and you got your 10p back !!!..............lol

You're all doing so well..............I feel guilty now I''ve stopped especially when I know there's stuff in kitchen cupboards that needs a good clear out.
We must have enough casserole dishes to start a restaurant and last time we went to see my son they gave us another one !!!
We've got dinner plates OH's mum gave us (he didn't like to refuse) and some horrible plain brown ones that were going free so OH grabbed them as well and all they've done is sit in the cupboard.
As he's Head Chef and whatever else goes on in kitchens......he keeps saying he'll do it. If I start I'll put things back in the wrong place (well wrong to him).
So I'm at a sort or stalemate until he starts on his list:

    Clothes in bedroom
    Kitchen cupboards
    CD's/videos etc.
    Garden rubbish
    Garage

Wonder if he just might do some of this while I'm at Mums ???????
