Enough is enough - the great declutter

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend. The weather has been a bit mixed here but the sun is blazing now.
Well, I scored a triumph today by getting my OH to part with his PS1 and Nintendo game consoles and games. They are heading for ebay. He has kept them forever and has never used them in the last two years I have known him, he has a PS2 anyway (also never used) but he isn't as keen on parting with that one!
Got a load of stuff for freecycle too, but have decided to try to ebay the armchair rather than freecycle as it is a Marks and Spencer chair and has the right fire-retardent labels, etc so I think it might be a goer.
The link for the house sale is here. We had a viewing yesterday while we were out, yet to hear news, but fingers crossed....Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hi gingababe, if you have any questions about Auctiva do ask because we have a few on here who use it (not me I'm afraid). Good luck with your efforts!
Mary, the whole photos thing exhausted me too! If it's too daunting perhaps try to break it down into mini-tasks before you start? If it wasn't for this thread I know for a fact mine would be still sitting in the loft (terrible place to store photos) - all 8 crates of them as they were then or around 20,000 photos, unsorted!0 -
Your house looks absolutely fantastic on the listing Angela, are you pleased with it?
(Are you sure you want to move?!!!)0 -
Yes we are keen to move. The story is that this is OH's house which is way too small for us (with my working from home the majority of the time, and OH just about to, it will be impossible). We are moving to my house which is plenty big enough. Once the house is sold, we can pay off our mortgage which will be fab, so its all in a good cause.
It is a lovely house, if I could pick it up and move it nearer my house, I would love it for my parents, but sadly, its not to be!Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

You will be the first person on here since I've joined to have "decluttered" to the tune of an entire house! Good luck with the sale.0

Oooh...Can I join!? I have already started. I turfed out a load of stuff from the shed which was bursting at the seams & I also did the spare bedroom which is soon to be my daughters room yesterday.

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0 -
I spent £50 (including postage) on a bundle of clothes from ebay this week and would really like to make that money back if I can with my listings that are ending today . So far (first item ending at 23:26:22 BST ) we have £14.15 + P&P but all due to pay by Paypal. Last thing listed finishes tomorrow at 20:30:42 so we'll see how I do. Already got some more things ready to list :rotfl::rotfl: There I was thinking the house was as decluttered as I could make it.

£135 at a car boot is brilliant Becky! You must have been thrilled.
Good luck with yours Nicki. I like setting off the amounts against other things too, my lot this month is to go towards my car service and vehicle licence

Well I`m not doing too well, I am trying hard to list via auctiva & first of all I couldn`t get the categorys up, I logged off cleared my cache thingy & logged back on, sorted that but now I can`t get my photos uploaded, & I really wanted to use it for the extra photos, if anyone could help me I would appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance
