Sharronloves2spend - that's a great story about your first house! I must admit over the years I've heard people saying "we need a bigger house", and thought to myself "no you don't, you could just get rid of some stuff" :p Your post just reminded me of that!

Angela do you have any work to do on sorting out your new place or are you done now? May I ask if baking your own bread really does save money? I spend about £75 a year on bread in our household (a loaf a week).

Pigpen :rotfl: about the rocking chair! That one brought a grin to my face. Well getting rid of a sofa would certainly create a lot more space as long as you have sufficient other seating?! Were you serious?

Today I have a few more parcels to send out from people who've paid since yesterday evening. I've sent invoices reminding everyone who hasn't paid yet, only 3 left now.

8 items with bids out of 29 currently listed, bids so far £29.53. I don't think anything spectacular will happen with this lot, I'm at the end of the line with getting rid of stuff now.

I might be able to squeeze one more small lot of ebay stuff out of my household things after this.

Next on my list is sorting out my sheds. I have one which houses gardening and leisure stuff (bikes, racquets, football stuff etc) and one for recycling and DIY storage. They were both done last summer but I'm more ruthless now :p Hope to do that over the next week.

I would like a table and chairs in here..

The children sit on the arms of the sofa to watch films on the pc.. but they would be better on dining chairs.. or bean bags.. or anything..

Hmm, looks like the sofa is kind of serving a purpose there Pigpen ;)

Parcels have gone out, office floor is looking a whole lot better now and "selling shelf" is gradually emptying! Once this batch is done, and the sheds, I will probably consider it finished :)

I have got a 'spare bedroom' which looks more like a junk shop. I could really do with getting around to selling some stuff on Ebay but my problem is I don't drive and can't walk to the post office. Once someone wants to buy something how could I get it to them? And I've some larger items like brass curtain poles - how on earth do you get them to people?

the parcelforce website (and a few others) you can arrange collection of larger items. I've sold pushchairs and used these to collect from the house.. they even bring the address slips so you just need to wrap the item up securely!

Daxon for some stuff which is a complete pain to wrap etc, you can select "buyer collects only" - this seriously limits your potential buyer market but I have sold a few things this way. Just remember cash only on collection (no paypal).

A loaf of bread made in the breadmaker costs about 30p for ingredients, plus according to OS board, about max 10p for electricity I think (I bake in the oven which is probably a bit dearer but I get better results that way.

So its definitely cheaper, I am not a big bread eater - OH is though. I very often make 12 rolls at a time for OH's lunches for that price, freezing some if necessary. It doesn't keep for as long because its not chocka full of additives - but hell, you can make two loaves for (almost) half the price of a normal loaf! I was given my first bread maker, and then treated myself to a special offer panasonic but still prefer my old one! Of course, if you have time and have strong wrists, you can bake your own without a BM, but to be honest, I don't have time, wrists or inclination!!!

One bag of flour = 3 loaves minimum (some OSers do mix bread flour with plain/SR but I don't really do this).

I think its definitely worth doing as you can control the sugar and salt going in, plus I have made cheese and herb bread, fruit bread, pizza dough, etc.

We are all done with the house - the agent came over to photograph, OH went round to sign up tonight and they are coming around to do a 360 degree shots for the web site (I will post up the web link when its published). Apparently, the agent has someone lined up to view already!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
