Went on a Sunday avo whoopsie run at T's and was a little shocked by the pushing and shoving that some people will do! One lady was seriously on a mission, her trolley was literally overflowing lol!
Managed to get a few little bits but nothing major. The meat section was pretty much inaccessible:eek:. You know the sweet pies that T's do in their bakery section? Rhubarb, Cherry etc. Can you freeze them do you think? Got one for 10p but not sure if should eat tonight or not. Also, can you freeze croissants etc from the bakery section?
Got some Bakin Boys fruity flapjacks in boxes. There were 4 boxes at 20p each and I was only going to get one based on how much we could get through and then I noticed the BB was 9th Sept!!! What a strange thing to be whoopsying!
Have managed 6 Palmolives today from S's today. My hubby did 2 for me and then I bobbed in on my way home from T's and picked up another 4 in 2 seperate tranactions. Trying to stockpile a few while the offers still on. Anyone know when S's offer ends? They don't seem to put it on SEL or on internet.
Wrap pie up tight in cling film to stop freezer burn and will be fine0 -

Hi Magsmorris, when feeling low this is my corner in the garden, the good folk here often cheer me up.Thanks Frequent:T. Thought you would know if you were on the thread today;)
I've tackled floor tiling a few times over the years but we've got so much work on that I'm having to pay for some things just to keep on track with OH cracking the whip:eek:. Based on previous experience it would take me several days to do 12m2 as I can't work fast enough to keep up with open time for the fast set adhesive that I've used previously for porcelain tiles:o (plus the regular coffee breaks to admire my work and popping on here :rotfl::rotfl:)
Likes coffee breaks and admiring handy work, if on a time scale is better to bring in help so you have time to plan next order of works.
Firstly, sorry folks if this becoming the "Artha asks DIY questions thread":o
Mica, when I get around to doing the main kitchen job I'll be fitting all the units, plumbing, wall tiling and decorating once I've taken down the ceiling and had the electrics rewired, new ceiling + ceiling/wall skim and hardwood floor fitted by tradesmen.
Most of the worktops I think I can fit myself(but last time was 25 years ago;) but was considering getting a joiner to deal with a seamless join I need on a corner. In your experience is it easy to get a joiner to deal with just worktop fitting(and the routed flush join on a corner which I believe a special jig is required)?
Cost of tool hire and time exceed cost of hiring a pro with tools, allowing time for more coffee, thread catching up, admiration and planning.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

Please don't think I'm being awkward here, but did you actually need all the batteries or the DVD's???
As you all know, I'm certainly no stranger to DTD and have given it a right good spanking on occasion, but IMO its way too easy to fall into the trap of raising your profile in a store to buy crap we don't need.
I have found DVD's and betteries over the past couple of days along with a few other oddments but have bought nothing.
Weren't they as appealing as the Smarties then0 -
Thanks for the advice re the Palmolives and Pies! Wish I'd picked up a couple more at 10p each but didn't want to risk it and then find out not freezable. I am, obviously, referring to the pies not the Palmolive :rotfl:0

Step 1
Spend 1p or more in store before Sunday 29th April 2012
Step 2
Get a £10 coupon issued at the till
Step 3
Redeem the coupon in store when you spend £80 or more between Monday 30th April and Monday 7th May inclusive
Don't think I will be bothering with this, then again depends on whats on "offer"0 -
Shortfatscotsbloke wrote: »18 wombles!! That must be some kind of record..
Have you got any advice on the best way to get several at a time? Do you look in certain places, go at certain times of day, use 10 kids to help you??
My efforts are normally pathetic and I think the most I have ever managed is three!:(:(
I think mis laid uses the 10 kids and they sing "going to pick a pocket or 2":D
Evening all.
