From what I understand the lungs are an organ that doesn't heal itself i.e once tissue is damaged it doesn't regenerate. This was what my father in law was told when he was diagnosed with emphysema, that stopping smoking wouldnt undo the damage done but stopping would stop any further damage. But he was a very heavy smoker from teens until diagnosed in his mid 40s.

I think thats fairly true. I smoked up to 60 a day from about age 18 till I was 40 so it wouldnt surprise me if there was some residual damage.

Doc is a bit blase about it all though to be honest. It was me who suggested the possibility of some COPD else I'm sure he wouldn't have given the spirograph test.

Although my cholesterol seemed high at 6.8 he seemed unphased. Just said my diet was bad and that was it.

I seem to do the donkey work myself and just throw him suggestions lol.

Hello Elsie1969, maybe you can help me with something, I asked a little while ago but don't think it was answered

Why is it that this and previous threads contain 11+ in the title?

    Thanks

    They are lovely aren't they!!
A couple of weeks ago I had my two grandsons in the car and we were playing a guessing game of "Animals beginning with..."
His turn was an animal beginning with F....but as he's only 4 we use the phonetic alphabet so it was a fff rather than an eff.

We couldn't get it so had to "give in". He was nearly beside himself with excitement....."Frocadile"!!! he struggles with saying his cr's :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Lol @ frocadile! Bless him.

I planted some in tubs out the front which have finished flowering but the leaves haven't started to die back yet. I want to put some pansies in which I got for 60p a tray in T's on Saturday but was reluctant to do it in case I stopped the daffs flowering next year.
Would it be better to lift them out, dry them off and store in the shed to plant in the autumn or should I do the same as Heatherlea? Any advice appreciated TIA

They need the leaves because they turn to sugar and feed the bulbs.

cant get to T at whoopsie time,(kids bedtime) so have meal planned for the rest of the week, and want to go twice a week monday & friday (might not work if theres a major glitch. As i'm spending way too much on shopping calling in every day.
Any way the huggies superdry economy packs are only £4.99, the smaller carry packs are £6.48, so used my voucher and got 2 of the £4.99 packs & got £6.48 off them. ideal for making up a shop to £40 spend.hth

I forgot to mention this earlier

boxes of Thortons Melts (Praline, not Caramel) SEL £2.00, scans at £1.00

    I'm waiting until they are 1p ;-)

I would go and hide some behind some expensive items that dont sell well, so you wont be disappointed when someone else gets them all!

    Hi aau,

I think its because the Tesco Misprices Thread at the time was 11, and there was a "discussion" at the time about how chat/non chat. So the Tesco thread moved onto 12, and 11+ went "gone"

If I'm wrong though, someone feel free to correct me...

Also welcome back Elsie. Sorry you've been having a rubbish time, but glad Cookie is being a superstar xxx

Yep thats about right. We now keep 11+ in the title simply so the regulars can identify the thread easily.
